My U.S. iX Order Timeline From Order to Production

Logged into My BMW today and it actually happened:

Production was supposed to start next week. Have a VIN now.

so are you Week 36? I'm scheduled for Week 38. Can't wait for the production to start.

My iX completed production on 7/19 and has been awaiting carrier assignment since then. I’d say you’re four months from delivery.

You could end up "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" for (as of right now) 6 weeks like me. I also have a 2023 m60 on order, was completed 7/22/22, still not at port. At this point, I wouldn't get too excited for your iX until it is actually on a boat.

I’ve been following your situation TX. What a shame. What port do TX deliveries arrive at? Any insights into why the delay?

Galveston, TX. The only explanation I have been given is "logistics". At this point I am assuming it is parked in so far back in the overflow lot, that it is nearly impossible to get to.

ppagiga Unfortunately, I think TXSchnee and Bertram Wooster are more right than wrong, if my experience is any indicator. My M60 went to "awaiting carrier assignment" 5 weeks ago and just got on a ship, Monday. Anticipated arrival is Sept 8 (aboard the Brooklands to Baltimore). So, another 10-14 days for transit to dealership, then prep.. I'm another month out. However, after languishing in 150 for about 3 weeks, it was built in 10 days. Not sure if logistics and the recalls are holding things up as much, any more. So, you may get lucky - I hope so!

I have been stuck in QC since July 29 and have been unable to get any info from BMW genius or my dealer, who says they have reached out to their reps but haven’t any information. They do tell me though that they have other vehicles, non-electric, that seem to be stuck as well. anyone have any info on getting out of QC 155?

My M60 was completed in production 7/23, then waited about a month before getting on a boat. Due in Galveston 9/12. Not complaining, I know some here would be happy for that.

So my iX M60 arrived at Jersey City, NJ port on Monday, and was released to carrier today per BMW Genius. Vehicle should be at dealership by 9/5 per BMW Genius, so hopefully I will have it by the following weekend 9/10. Looking forward to receiving it, getting it Xpel Stealth wrapped and tinted so I can begin driving it.

How long did yours stay at the port in Germany?

I'm waiting for a ship to NJ as well!

from my experience 8 weeks away from delivery (and I'm also in NJ). Went into quality check on 6/18/22 ... my vehicle arrived in Jersey City on Monday 8/29 and is expected to Freehold on 9/5

Yes, BMW VPC is in Jersey City (Wallenius Wilhelmsen Schedule calls the port New York, NY)

I'd hang in there - I bought an iXM60 last week that was status 150 with a build date of 9/3 - It went into QC this morning and should be right on schedule... When will it get here -??? That's a different story, but if your SA says the build date is 9/12 I'd expect that to be true.
