F40/F44 lifecycle (educated guess), potentially final names for the iNext models.

Could be. For some reason bmw.fi has slightly different eu-weight figures for the outgoing model. And I compared xdrive versions.

So it's not gonna be an X7 coupe, it'll be more Urus/Bentayga?

I mean really.... There is no better imagination at all of BMW other than to come up with a set of characters that they used in the past to indicate ALL WHEEL DRIVE models.

And while I know that the ix model designation is now replaced with xdrive…. and iX involves a capital letter but....

they seriously cant come up with something better than this?

Edit- @ynguldyn- I wonder if you are being trolled here with X as a placeholder ... aka X can be any integer and really it will have a number like the i3 and I8..

The only thing(s) I love are the bug eyes and the Top Fuel dragster wings of the Porsche 991 GT3's.

Yes, this possibility did occur to me.

We'll know the truth soon.

Indeed, since BMW will be launching iX1, iX3, iX5 at the very least, so even though these will only be electrified versions of existing models while the iNext will be a fully bespoke vehicle, it still makes sense to name the iNext iX7 or iX8 in order to clearly integrate it within the BMW i range

As a total speculation, I wonder if this is because the current platform is not suitable for a proper BEV (the platform sibling Cooper SE is ridiculously weak sauce for 2019, while U06 and derivatives will hopefully be much better in that regard).
I think that's reasonable conjecture - the early EOP would make sense if they intend to genuinely compete in the small EV space next decade. Audi is going to be way ahead of the game due to the early development of MEB. I don't think Mercedes is too far behind.

That said, I am not optimistic about U06 or any other next generation sub-3 BMW at this point. I recall reading that the relationship with Great Wall is in peril due to disagreement about EV packaging and other technical considerations. And even if it were perfect, I am skeptical about the prospects for dynamically convincing EVs on legacy FWD architectures - it seems like the wrong answer to me. Volvo is debuting that type of setup in the Polestar 2 on CMA, so we'll see very soon how that turns out compared to the dedicated platform approach.
