I had already presented the evidence that it was not a fault with my car, the BMW sunset page confirming my data services would continue to work, and that the module could of course be replaced (per the BMW NA SIB). The solution should not require a replacement in most cases. It involves resetting the module to pre-delivery mode, so when it activates, it re-selects the optimum network to use. The BMW tech was able to do this (my local dealer connected their laptop, then gave a tech remote access to diagnose). They only replaced the module because they were unhappy with the signal strength. In the 6 weeks I was then waiting for the replacement part, my remote services (locate car, sound the horn etc.) worked just fine. Not sure if I can post email addresses here I'll try: kundenbetreuung@bmw.de Good luck. |

EDIT - I just saw you drive an M340i. This doesn't affect you. It's only a small number of cars built around 2016, with a hybrid 3G/4G module. |
