Besides the 7:07 Nurburgring time of the 5000lb Taycan Turbo S GT, Porsche is working on the Mission X Supercar. Will be interesting to see how this car handles. Remember the VW IDR electric race car ran a 6:05 sec lap. Electric cars can not only run fast laps, they can excel in everyday drivability, efficient operation, while never having to worry about smog issues of many "tuner" cars. I you want a slow car that is noisy and is fun to drive, then why not just get a Miata. But if you want a car that is very quick, and can hold its on a track, then the EVs are hard to beat.

It is not a sales problem it is an over production problem. EV sales grew 50% YoY in 2023 and that was a huge acceleration compared to 2022.

That's kind of misleading. 50% of what number? And what did these HUGE incentives do to that number and are they sustainable?

That being said, I would never be in my I4 if not for the rebates/subsidies. I think I'll always want a fast EV now...but I actually still prefer to drive my 335i and never have to worry about where I can go. Its safe to say that I love my I4, but I don't like living with it. (Its a conundrum)

Lastly...the car in the video must be insane and I'd love one.

It seems like an incredibly risky bet to take. I have zero desire to own an electric car.

From a technical point of view I'm sure it will be really cool to have 4 engine torque vectoring, but this won't really work on track. The big racetracks are not about to commission a 400kV triphase tower coming from 'the grid' to enable 100 fast chargers.

i agree.

i bought a M340i thinking it's going to be great but the gas pedal has lag, i can't hear the engine, can't hear the exhaust, zero steering feel, bumpy run flat tires, i'm not feeling a lot of love for the thing.

can't even sell it coz nobody buys used Euros here apparently.

got the wife a EV6 GT and i can play around with it too!
