Heres my update. Got car back from dealer. Works as it should now. They connected car to their system. Sent some info to Munich. Took 2 days for Munich to acknowledge issue and approve a software patch. They sent software patch to dealer. Dealer uploaded to car. And here we are. Some trivial settings were lost and had to be reinstated but all good now. Car charges as it should. Car was in service a total of 5 days. Very pleased with the outcome. If you have this home charging issue. Go to dealer prepared with a video of you plugging in car and seeing the error occur. It helped a great deal since its difficult to replicate at dealer.

This is great news. I just joined the forum as I seem to be having the exact same issue after just paying to get my plug installed, it clicks, and then turns red within 60 seconds with no explanation. I talked to my dealership and they said they have never heard this before, and I pointed them to this thread. They want to know what dealership you worked with so they can learn more. They scanned for recalls or other advisories, and nothing was available in their system. Can you maybe PM me the dealership and contact that assisted you?

You are unable to receive PM's. Just have your dealer do some leg work and contact BMWUSA first. This isnt a recall or even an advisory yet. They actually have to pick up the phone. Some dealers just dont go the extra mile and dont really care. You have to force the issue. Good Luck.
