I have too, just sat with my boy through the original Predator, but Prey was rubbish. It added nothing and the premise of a young girl taking on and beating a Predator with old time weapons, tbh it was pretty laughable. It just didn't work for me at all.

I'm not good with words so went to IMDB to find a review that articulates my position;

This felt more like a Disney toned-down for family version. Too much nonsense with the tribal dynamics and Naru's empowerment issues. The first half of the 99 min runtime was just dragged out with a lot of dull filler and too much gender correctness. Only the last half got a little exciting but got ridiculous at the end to see a little girl with an axe do better than the Terminator did against an advanced alien with high-tech gadgets. I just wasn't buying what the script was selling.

Although casting and performances were decent, the all-young cast seemed like they were missing uploading their Instagram stories instead of hunting. They just weren't convincing enough, except for the brother and, well, the Predator. I'm not sure if it was poor cast direction or part of the script or both, but either way, I wasn't emotionally invested in the characters at all and had trouble taking them serious. However, the cinematography and score were decent. This film is not what I expected, or wanted, but still an ok one-time watch if you're a fan of the franchise. Just don't go in thinking this will be a revelation of an origin story, because it's far from that.

Premise of this new one is interesting, they've tried to break out f the same story line they keep repeating.

On the topic of Alien, the mrs was at her sister's last night so i watched Romulus. Hmmmmm, I guess i am in the minority that enjoyed the intelligent origin story from Prometheus and Covenent and felt the return to a straight up "monster chases heroes" scenario that people seem to want was not my cup of tea. It wasn't bad*, it just felt ..... surplus to needs.

*OK one thing that is really bothering me with each new Alien film is how fast the process from face hugger to full blown Xenomorph is taking, it's like 8 minutes now when it was what, 2 days in the original film? Even the final act of Romulus, the hybrid, like how did it grow to 8 feet tall in 10 minutes? Really?

Believe the Hype! It is EXTRAORDINARY!!!

Even A Listers that have absolutely nothing to do with the film are praising it:

Cooglar is easily one of the best and most talented Directors today. His stock will absolutely skyrocket after this masterpiece.

Talk about one of the most intriguing, creepy, unsettling and confusing Trailers for a Movie I've seen in recent memory. I'm all in...

The good the bad and the ugly.
Very old western but a very good movie even if you generally don't like old movies

Just watched Mission Impossible/dead reckoning, crazy plot about how two key halves could give power to the holder, a bit laughable but great chases and car crash scenes.

OK.... Finally watched SINNERS. Very entertaining and Coogler continues to show why he is currently one of the best Directors in Hollywood!

Also watched FINAL DESTINATION: Bloodlines. I am a huge fan of the franchise and this did not disappoint. The "death revenge killings" were brutal AF!

No one beats Eastwood's 'the man with no name' character in these well known spaghetti westerns.

That's called ret-conning and it sucks.

"A literary device in fictional story telling whereby facts and events established through the narrative itself are adjusted, ignored, supplemented, or contradicted by a subsequently published work that recontextualizes or breaks continuity with the former."

It revises constants and established rules for the film, often contradicting earlier concepts, in order to facilitate a new story. It's insulting frankly, and lazy, and to me, it immediately takes me out of the film.

Beckett is about an American tourist in Greece that falls asleep in his rental car which rolls into an abandoned house killing his GF and crawling out sees a young boy. Shortly afterwards bent police and even US Embassy officials are trying to kill him as he has stumbled onto a political conspiracy .
Great views of Athens city in it.

Bro.... It managed to give us true fans something I've wanted to see for a long time:
Different eras in time against different types of Warriors. It is animated but don't let that deter you.
Also... There are more live action Predator films in the works.

I'm not really into cartoons/animation. The new Badlands movies looks pretty good though.
