Mine went pretty smooth also. It looks different, that’s about the only positive thing I can say about it.
I used to be able to hit home and press the controller which would bring me to all the apps. Only way I figured out this far to get there now is to touch the apps on the screen, and I try not to use the screen as much as I can due to smudges. AC screen is the most noticeable change. I like this one slightly better, but in all honesty I kind of leave most settings on auto anyway. Last used apps were also displayed on the dropdown at the bottom. I don’t think they still are which sucks because now I need to use a favorite spot to get them to show. Also, not sure why BMW thinks I need to look at the radio tab AND either phone or destination, but apparently that’s a combo I need… how about just make a whole tab for the music source? am I the only one that gets an idrive 7 vibe from the new layout (just mirrored)? Most of everything else that I’ve noticed is different fonts… didn’t have an issue reading the old fonts, but these probably make the car faster somehow. I also thought there was location based comfort access. How exactly does one go about enabling it? I’d love to not have my car open/close/open/close/open/close as I’m walking around the car when I’m home (only). EDIT: Nevermind. Don’t know why I thought that… |

I will say, I do like the new assisted plus driving controls. Take your hands off the wheel and assisted plus engages automatically.

Does anyone with 8.5 have the "exclude home" option under Comfort Access > Unlock when approaching?
I've seen it in some 8.5 screenshots, but maybe they didn't give it to the iX for some reason? |

quick question, I was about to pull the trigger on a lease, but the door jam build date says March 2023. That means it won't get 8.5 is that right? That's right about the cut-off, I thought.

That’s is approximately the cut off date. But I think you might have squeezed in. Can you make sure you have the latest head unit? Is yours a 2023 or 2024? If you have Highway Assistant and AR on the drivers side display then you have the latest head unit and are eligible to upgrade to 8.5.

Following up on my own thing, dealer confirmed it's the newest hardware. Huzzah, signed all the paperwork, should be picking it up within the next few days.

This is random but a few days after the 7/2023 update on my 2023 BMW IX (build date Sept 2022), is my Digital Art mode disappeared (the purple one). I can still select the purple ambient light in Personal Mode so it’s no big deal but just found that weird. Anybody else?

Just got my new iX yesterday. Weird thing, in the app, it says I’m on 3/2023.65, but in the car, it shows 7.2023. The dealership updated the software before delivering it to me, but it’s odd that the app doesn’t recognize it

If the dealership updated the software prior to delivery I’m surprised you aren’t on 11/2023.20 or later. Mine was updated to that before I picked it up a couple of weeks ago; it’s a 4/23 build.

I have now read several automotive articles praising the ClockTwo widget and they keep saying from Dec. 2022 it is available in all iX models. But, I have never had it, and cannot find it. |

I haven't seen it either. Although I don't think I've gone spelunking looking for it but I feel like I've been through most, is not every menu option in iDrive 8.0
