The M60 is in the configurator now in some countries (Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland). Price is the same as the M50 with some minor changes here and there in options or packages.

The Rimac Nevera has 1900hp and can go 0-60 in under 2 seconds. It blows away Bugattis. This is today. Imagine what EVs will do 5 or 10 years from now. ICE can't compete.
They won't be any faster.
We have reached the limit of coefficient of friction.

They will get lighter and go longer distances with better battery tech.

But, still admirable for BMW to hide most of the weight.
My i4 M50 is lowered and has the 20" wheels.
Had it on Sears Point raceway doing some hot laps. It doesn't out handle an ICE M car but it's not far behind the M5 since that's a heavy beast also.

Absolutely. I can't imagine buying an M50/60 and not getting 20" wheels. Might as well get the xDrive40 since you won't be able to get traction any better than the 40.

Don't often need race track handling on the street. Yet I appreciate the effortless acceleration and instant torque from every intersection. Makes a rubber band ICE powerband seem antiquated. Remember, the i4 M50 still pulls .97g lateral, and has beaten a much lighter M240i around a race track, while matching or beating a M3 in a stopping distance test. So its not like some unmanageable pig to drive, lol.

That .97 is on the 19" wheels.
It will pull greater than 1g when lowered with the sticky 20" rubber. Been there; done that.

My comment was really about being able to fully utilize the power and without wider tires the M50 struggles for grip on a launch.

It's definitely not a pig to drive and I've done hot laps at Sears Point Raceway in mine.

M50 has disappeared from UK Configurator, hopefully that means it’s being updated…. 👀
