Before the resto Lisa wanted to put a set of driving lights on it, but once this project got under way it was more about neat, tidy and classic.

This is #2 of 23 with the M471 special equipment package effectively making it a street version of the 914/6 GT race car. . Complete restoration in 2008 and formerly owned by Erich Strenger, the first art director for Porsche’s official magazine, Christophorus.

I didn't know that it was badged as a VW. Maybe someone could shed some light.

Beautiful car!

The 914 models were badged as VWs in Europe and Porsche in North America, at least initially. The thought was probably a desire to not dilute the Porsche image, which was centered on the 911.
