That's a valid point but from a truly luxury standpoint Tesla's don't fit the bill. For an electric car, there is a lot to like but they are not luxury cars IMO, which doesn't count for much. 😉

Actually the white is a triple layer paint, and pretty expensive. And nice looking. Much like Mineral white.
The reason you see them in white (besides white cars being one of the most popular colors sold in general), is that in 2019 (I think?) Tesla switched from Black being the only no-cost color to white. Maddening since black was non-metallic boring black and white is the triple layer paint. But since when does anything they do make sense? |

Ah...well the M-badging doesn't just apply to the M60 or whatever... And 6 hours? More like 30-40 minutes with fast charging (150+ KW/hr). I've found slow charging to be just fine since the car is parked 90%+ of the time.

The only button I use in my car is the radio volume. AC has been on "automatic" for years and I haven't touched it. Seats? I configured them once when I bought my car and the car remembers my settings.

I was a bit concerned about the complex HVAC and it being hidden away, but during the test drive I realized that the main temp controls remained floating at the bottom of the iDrive screen and it really wasn't that big of a deal. The complex HVAC screen is only for detailed adjustment, I usually just leave cars on auto and adjust the temperature accordingly.
You can also adjust the heated seats to go on or off automatically at a certain temperature. At least with my old X3 this made it so I rarely adjusted that as well. |

Model X has more 3rd-row room than a Q7, I cross-shopped them along with Escalade, Merc GLS. You slide the second row forward a few inches, and 3rd row is big enough for me to be perfectly happy at 5'11", whereas the germans and the GMs had tons of 2nd row space but the 3rd row was obviously not meant for adults. Even the Yukon XL has odd cushion height in the 3rd row, your knees were up high. The new IRS models might be better, haven't tried one of those yet. X really does fit a lot of people into not a lot of footprint. Very BMW-like in that regard, fitting a lot of interior volume into a car that's not much bigger footprint than an E-class wagon. And the hatch has enough space for big dogs.
But all that cross shopping was back when a Model X was $85k with 7 seats. Now, they aren't even making 7-seat Model X's, and there is no ETA. There is no way I would order a Model X today. Current garage has a tundra, E90M, W212 E63, and the 2021, pre-refresh X in it. They're all great in their own way but there's a reason Model X is getting 2X as much mileage per year as the other ones have since we got it in late 2020, combined...and that's because electric drive is just better for daily driving, and large vehicles are just better for doing family stuff, and now we have a car that does both being big inside and being electric, it's the right tool for the job, almost all the time. I thought I would hate the doors but they're fine. And, surprisingly, they work. Now that manufacturers are finally competing in this size class, I think people are going to buy an assload of them. iX, the Koreans, the EQGLE/S, the Lyriq...they're going to sell as many as they can make, because Tesla is still, to this day, cranking out Model X's that aren't quite fully-baked and the fanboys are restless.

You have dedicated buttons for all of those things. The AC adjustment buttons just live along the bottom of the touch screen like they do on almost every modern EV. All the others are hard buttons.
