In the US there's a customer relations line: 1-800-831-1117, email customerrelations@bmwusa.com. - both on the MyBMW app. BMWNA CEO is Sebastian Mackensen, Sebastian.Mackensen@bmwna.com. His "direct" line is (201) 573-2100, but you may not get far with that. First option is Customer Relations, which is a good place to start for US owners. Starting with Munich is probably non-productive as a first step. For the Caribbean, probably start with the CR number on your app.

Perhaps there’s a reason that the car must be “on” as per the start/stop button.
For a reason unknown to you, the advice is to drive the car. So do that.

I assume he didn't read his owner's manual, either.

No material difference letting the car do the download. It’s still blocked, asking me to drive the car to charge the starter battery.

I won’t try again.

My iX finally allowed me to complete this update at home, three days before my service appointment at the dealer... I was getting the message to drive to charge the battery, I drove 300 miles round trip a few weeks ago and was still getting the message, then this past week after a short road trip it allowed me to update. Success, and saved a trip to the dealer!

Good news. Perhaps they fixed whatever was causing the issue?

I ended up having it installed at the dealership and suffered no ill effects.

Comfort access with DK+ is significantly improved and is perfectly responsive now, every time I try to open the door - it was taking 3 or 4 seconds to unlock if the car had been sitting a while. (I have unlock on approach disabled).

On the main map, they've reinstated the charging route button which got disappeared on the previous update.

Haven't noticed anything else that's changed.

Not sure if a fix was pushed given the version remained the same and a new install package was not downloaded to my knowledge.

Same experience with DK+. Pre-update it would take a handful of seconds to unlock the door, post-update I have immediate access. This was the primary reason I wanted to complete the update, and I’m very glad it helped.

New iXM60 owner/ new to this forum: my app indicates that the 11/2024.74 OTA update is running on my iX. I purchased this car on 1/31/25, and I recall the install occurring roughly mid-Feb for me. The only 2 unique things on my end perhaps might be that this car was fresh off the lot and I paid to have the eSIM enabled prior to the download. I wonder if the latter made any difference? In any case, I agree with the concerns here, the OTA updates should proceed smoothly.

eSIM should not have any impact on the OTA install since the update goes to your phone and then from your phone to the car.

The car can download it directly without using the phone but wouldn't (shouldn't) need the customer eSIM as it should use the car's eSIM.

Not the most recent update (11/2024). It didn't give that as an option (at least in the US). I tried that option once before and it was painfully slow.

Can't speek for the US but when mine wouldn't install last month, I downloaded it 3 times. Once via the phone, & twice via the car.

It did seem to imply it could only be done via the phone but it was possible to do via the car.

Either way, it make little to no difference to anything
