I think you’re going to be very disappointed since you’re getting a 24 model. The only module available in the 24s is the active sound module. The Headunit module is no longer available…
The 23 models still had the headunit module available to code, so at least could get rid of the speed lock items… On 24 you are SOL. |

I’ve done it on mine. And refer to what I posted previously. Unless July update has locked us out, March hasn’t. I was replying to a specific question, the 2 options he asked about is still available to be coded in the head unit. I am well aware of the other modules not being available. And as someone has clarified, 2024 cars onwards you are SOL. I guessing this has to do with the newer head unit and thus BMW were able to move everything to the cloud. |

Hi,
I've read 7 pages and still haven't found any easy guide to code the iX. I have experience with coding series 6 F12 and i8 years ago using ENET cable. I learned that now you can do coding with bimmercode and the bluetooth OBD dongle. That's amazing! I bought an OBDLink CX, and able to code my old X2 car. But then I cannot get bimmercode app, or OBDLink app to connect to the car. I've tried trip press the start/stop button, and got diagnostic mode confirmed, but both of those apps still not able to connect. Any help please? ![]() My car build date is July.2023, just updated to iDrive 8.5 (July.2023 version I think?). I just want to remove the legal disclaimer. It's so annoying yet is it on every single BMW car. I don't think it is compulsory. Look at Tesla, there is none such annoying thing! BTW, Any way to get Bimmercode beta version? |

I'm not sure what is the reason why it is not connect with the app. I know the app on app store is not support iX, however, at least it should connect and then give some errors? Can you please show me how to get it connect? Thank you. After OBD dongle plugged, trip tap start/stop and car went to diagnostic mode, and then what else? |

I guess the only issue is different versions of the app. |

You will need the beta version in order to use it with the iX. I think you are going to be sorely disappointed with how little you can actually do with it. Disclaimers, etc. Let’s put it this way. I wouldn’t spend any money on the app or adapters if I didn’t own them already. Coding days are essentially over.

My only advice? Don’t be the first guy to try it and make sure whoever does it gets a software update months later. |

I’m sure I wouldn’t be the first one, and generally by the time it’s released it is already confirmed working. Nonetheless, I agree with you. I prefer not to beta test anything.
My point was that back in the day when BMW began to trim CAFD files, everyone was freaking out just the same. A few months later, problem was solved. That had to be 5-6 years ago. Yes, this seems to be a fairly major inconvenience, but if there’s a will, there’s a way. I’m still hopeful… |

It’s one thing to code and change a few parameters here and there on something that’s not locked down, but I would say hacking your config files and the digital signature would definitely qualify for voiding your warranty. Is it really worth the risk of not being able to get future software updates (bug fixes)? That’s up to you to decide. |

I got the beta version, and it's nothing much to change here, only RAM (Audio) options was there. No Head unit, so cannot remove legal disclaimer.
Adapter: ODBLink CX Bimmercode beta. iDrive updated July.2023 version. |

Damn… it’s not even worth it. I have the Bluetooth OBD connector and the BimmerCode app I had bought in 2018 for an M3. Just received the beta, but if this is the only thing that can be changed, I won’t even be bothered connecting it to the car. Was a let down, although we had been forewarned enough times, it strikes different when you actually see those sad screenshots…
