The Victoria Highway landed on July 25 there. My iX is waiting at the BMW vdc there (still hasn’t gotten the airbag update according to bmw’s vin check). Dealer expects it in Dallas 8/4.

Two reasons for my dropping out:
1. Several posted that their iX's arrived at the port after mine, and yet their cars were put on a boat and shipped ahead of our iX. 2. A fellow forum member just posted that his iX M60 arrived at the dealership. How is that even possible when I preordered last September 2021 (with a $1500 deposit) and they just recently started building M60s? This finally proved to me that BMW is looking out for their own interest, and not for that of their loyal customers. |

Part of the problem is allocation vs. orders as they are received in the system, it should not matter which dealer you order from, your order date should matter. But that is not how it works. If dealer A has 10 allocations and 12 people order, the first 10 will get a build slot for now, the other 2 will be in a status 047 (awaiting allocation). If dealer B has 3 allocations and 2 people order, both of them will jump ahead of the 2 waiting from dealer A, even if they ordered before the 2 from dealer B.

Yeah, totally depends on the dealer. You're buying from a dealer, not BMW corp.
My local dealer hasn't even gotten their first M60 allocations yet. They haven't put in a single customer order into the system yet. Others are being built, ordered, and are shipped. So what does it matter if you are first in line at the local dealership, it isn't something you can compare nationally. |

Your story is awful...I still don't understand why the car went from "at the port" to "in transit" and then back to "at the port". I'm sorry man.
You're so close to the finish line...are you just gonna keep what you have for longer? Or are you looking at buying a different new car instead? You're only 4-6 weeks away, and these cars really are just so different from whatever else is out there. No chance you just hang in there for a little longer? |

I'm sorry. Been there with a different EV rollout. Waited 10 months, had the release slip and a rough rollout, finally backed out. Hoping Mercedes does it better for you than most EV releases seem to manage.
