Overall fuel consumption

Had my i8 since beginning of December 2014. Computer now showing 51.1 mpg(imperial gallons). I have covered 1700 miles mixed driving but I'm being quite careful.on the motorway at 74 mph I get 47 mpg. Don't think I'm ever going to see 134 mpg! Battery range 11 miles in low temperatures. Last week had a mild few days & range went up to 16 miles, so maybe in summer it will increase a little more.i still love it and compared to my SL 63 it is positively frugal. I know I'm a very lucky guy to have both these cars. I am keen to hear others thoughts on consumption and daily practicality.robert in Scotland.

I get just under 40 mpg (imperial) but i don't charge the car often and when on the open road, i have a heavy foot.. That is what the car is all about after all.

I just complete an interesting ECO-mode driving test. I drove all the time with ECO, mainly motorway and little downtown, winter tyres, about zero C conditions but dry. Charge every night, daily driving 180 km between charging. I managed to drive 680 km with one refueled tank. That makes 49,6 MPG (imperial) = 5,7-5,8 litres/100 km depending on calculation. Really not bad for a car of this performance. I think I can make it better, maybe over 700 km with summer tyres.

ECO mode saves fuel more than I though. Next week I'll make driving test with normal mode for comparison.

Here are my stats. But I live in sunny Southern California and I like to drive electric as much as possible. (And coast the hills.)

Here's another one to drive some of my friends crazy. But this comes from coasting the hills. I can't get more than 13-14 miles on electric mode. Ever.
