There were a lot of BMW incentives in Oct. Might not be possible to get the exact deal right now. This deal also used 7 MSD which helped. Here's my timeline and post on it: https://bmwi.bimmerpost.com/forums/s....php?t=1645137

Federal EV Credit $7,500

I am currently in the process of getting lease quotes for a 2020 i3s BEV. All 4 of the client advisors I have spoken to have said the $7,500 federal EV credit is "not available" on the 2020 models. It is however, available on the 2019's.

Does anyone have insight into why BMW is not offering the $7,500 rebate on the 2020? Without this credit the lease payment on a 2020 i3s BEV with an MSRP of $56,000 is about $750 ($3,000 in incentives, 64% residual, base MF, invoice, 24 month, zero drive off, 10,000 miles). IMHO $750 a month is CRAZY, especially when I was able to lease one for $300 - $400 a few years ago.

Interesting. I'm seeing the 2019's still have the $7500 credit as well. Maybe they are trying to push the remaining 2019's out the door before throwing lease support to the 2020's?

I hope so. Without the $7,500, a lease payment is really unattractive on a 2020.

Its got to be this. BMW is nowhere near 200,000 EV vehicles sold. You could still claim the $7500 on your federal taxes though, right? The only other thing I could think of would be if the 2020 i3 isn't certified for the rebate yet. There's been so little info about the 2020's it almost seems like they weren't planning on making them and last-minute decided they would.

Shows 2020 i3 BEV is eligible for the tax credit but not the REx yet. 2020 530e is eligible. No reason the REx won't be.

This confirms the 2020 i3s BEV is eligible for the rebate from a Federal POV. Guess we will have to wait until February's program to see if BMW financial will pass it along.

Same boat as most here, this is my deal from October 2019. End of year will be very different from what you find now so I'd be weary of any dealerships ready to discount heavily. You might be able to get the incentives that are offered throughout the year for cap-cost reductions.

California
2019 i3s
$51195 (MSRP)
$45300 (After Discount)

Capcost Reduction
-7500 i3 Tax Credit
-3000 BMW Loyal
-1000 OL Coupon

Terms
30months / 12k miles
MF 0.00128 (0.00093 after 7 MSD)

Drive-offs
No additional downpayments but I did pay:
1st month, Tax & Registration, Dealer fees + MSD

Monthly
$175/month including tax

Post Sale Incentives
I'm in San Diego and have SDGE, so the only current rebate is the CVRP for $2500 I qualified for this year. This ranges based on income. I know in other cities you may qualify for other incentives but definitely check.

Effective Monthly after CVRP
Includes $1000 in dealer fees (Aquisition + docs), however I'm not factoring in Tax, Registration, Insurance, since this is yearly and paid on any car you buy drive.

$125/month

OL Code/Coupon is generally passed out at BMW Ultimate Driving events... I would check with your local dealerships to see if they have any upcoming events (sometimes, dealerships even offer these when you come in for a test drive).

Codes are usually $500/$1000 for use towards a future purchase.

Good luck!

Does anyone know if Penfed incentives of $11,000 can be combined with $7500 lease incentives?

You would assume they would not be able to be combined but all other penfed incentives cor other bmw models are stocakbld

Penfed currently offers $11,000 incentive towards i3
Then $7500 from bmw,

$7,500 credit from the horses mouth:
https://www.irs.gov/businesses/irc-3...vehicle-credit

2020 still gets it.
If you finance/purchase it, you get the credit.
If you lease it, dealer gets it.

Dealer incentives have nothing to do with the tax credit (unless it’s a lease)... just be smart about it. Have them itemize the total incentives and make sure the dealer is NOT claiming the $7,500 credit for themselves.

It was a pretty quick negotiation at the time for a little under 12% off MSRP. Just call around and present realistic scenarios to dealers near you (usually ones in the center or metropolitan areas won't negotiate, so look outward).

11% off is pretty standard on an i3. On my 2018 I got 10.49% off. On my 2019 I got 12.47% off. I simply asked all the dealers in my area for their best discount at buy rate money factor, and told them I would be asking all the other dealers in my area the same thing. This is all before incentives. You just gotta ask.
