My i8 replacement - Alfa Romeo 8c
https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/spy-sh...-coupe-spider/
This could be my i8 replacement in 2021. I have a deposit down for it, and am No1 on my dealer's list. I will get the spider (roadster) version. By then my i8 will be 6+ years old and due for replacement. I had originally intended to replace the i8 with the Porsche Mission E, but I far prefer a car that will only have 500 examples globally. |

Very lovely, but its a all out sports car?
From my seat its a 488 with a hybrid powertrain? I have driven 458's and they're not very daily driver cars. I'd hate to do school runs in that I'll bet it will be a fantastic sports car thou |

Lack of a local dealer network and alphas QC reputation would keep me clear of this. I think the Huracan replacement due out around the same time will be a hybrid. 570S replacement may also be a hybrid. The i8 blazed the trail but we won't be spoiled for choice when it comes to hybrid super cars in 2-4 years time.

Not a daily driver, unless it has good e only range. Time will tell on that, but it is easily possible it will exceed my i8 e range due to battery developments. Yes in a sense it is a 488 with a hybrid powertrain. But also with a lightweight carbon cell rather than the outdated Ferrari aluminium build. A good thing in my book. It's also what's stopping me buying another Ferrari. I currently own 3 full carbon cell cars and would struggle to go back to old tech construction. |

By contrast my nearest McLaren dealer is further away from me than the McLaren factory!! As is the nearest Ferrari dealer. Lambo dealer is quite close though, but I'm not interested in their current line-up. I don't believe Alfa QC is any worse than Ferrari or McLaren. But it won't come close to BMW of course. Agree the (proper) 570 and also 720 replacements will be hybrid. Perhaps same for 488, but Ferrari are normally behind the curve as the badge assures sales. It is also the reason I will buy a McLaren 7xxLT. To have the last best non-hybrid super series car McLaren will ever produce. |
