Now they put on the bonnet what they used to cast onto parts. We have come a long way...

And the new 2D ///M logo, obviously inspired by Futura 2020

The grille and badge design teams should've been swapped.

Looks cheap.

I also wonder how it's going to adhere, like how much space is there for the adhesive? And will it goes edge to edge? Otherwise you've got a raised perimeter everywhere?

These newfangled clear plastic badges won't last long on street parked cars.

It's ridicolius how much bitching going on these days. The i4 concept were a breath of fresh air, and the BMW logo 6.0 looks modern and suits the i brand.

Agreed, but it's the internet, bitching about shit that doesn't matter and you have no control over is modus operandi.

I'm sure those worrying can easily buy a new aftermarket emblem, its not like this is a part that can't be removed and changed.

If you're going to have ultra modern looking cars such as concept cars they need to have a matching updated logo. It's still 100% recognizable. Minimalism!

I still like the old-school positioning of the C-pillar badge, when executed it always look sharp.

So basically the body color will determine the background instead of it defaulting to black. Since I typically only get black cars, it'll just end looking the same..

I don't have anything in particular against the new logo, but they might as well completely change it and rename the brand as their designs for the past 15 years have nothing in common with the brand that I used to love...

One further piece of evidence that the new/current generation in charge at BMW absolutely doesn't give a rat's ass about the history and the heritage of the brand.

It's a modern take on a classic logo. I really like it.

The grill though, that needs work.

Is it though? The '97 version seems like a pretty big brand leap over the 1917/33 version

Looks just like a supermarket cart token.

This would have looked just as light and modern

Actually I prefer to think that the old badge can now be retired with honor and won't be sullied and tarnished by association with the grotesque .
