Agree. We had to sell because of financial issues. I paid $33k in 2012 for it and it would be worth $50k now.

I love the 996 Turbos. Had a 991 Turbo S cab loaned to me for a long weekend in L.A. a few years ago and we both loved that car. Only issue with the 996 is (a) very antiquated interior, it looks and feels old, she won't like that and (b) too expensive. Quality 996T's with low mileage run mid to high $40k's.

Here are the specifics:

a. Looking for something that stands out from the crowd, unique in a parking lot.
b. Price point is around $30K - $35K.
c. Must be 2012 or newer and less than 40K miles on it.
d. Needs to be moderately reliable as this will be a daily driver.
e. Prefer manual or DCT, but would consider an automatic if it was the right car.
f. Maint costs or upkeep costs are not really an issue, within reason.
g. Would prefer at least a minimal backseat to use in a pinch, but not required.
h. Must be fun to drive and enjoyable.

Some ideas that are currently on the table are a 2009+ Porsche Cayman but worried about it being too old, also 2018 or 2019 Alfa Giulia Ti 2.0T seems to be of interest. Another option was the Focus RS, but not very cool looking. The Miata RF was another choice, but worried about performance. Thought about the BMW M235 or M240, but she finds them boring looking.
What about a 2013-2016 SQ5

Drives like one too. And I disagree, the inside looks like one too. That aluminum dash is naff.

Cannot fault her there. Good luck with the search. I think the Ftype is going to be the car to beat. I am planning on my next car to either be a Ftype R or C8.

If you stretch the budget a little a 2014ish M6 or 650 might be a contender.

How about the Amphicar?

You can use it in most lakes, and grocery shopping.

I think I might be the luckiest guy on earth... I was trying to get the wife into an X1/X3 or Q3 but she wanted something that is easier to manoeuver in tight spots(ie her work place parking lot). So what does she pick? A mid level Toyota Yaris.

I just bought a new Ducati. Win-Win!!!

Wife says SUV's are just minivans for people who can't admit they drive a minivan.

I didn’t say it was the best option lol. A lot of women I know prefer a higher up seating position and feel safer in an SUV. It fit in your mentioned parameters....

Just let her rock the Ferrari bro

Funny you mention that because I've tried to get her to go look at a vette and just can't get it to consider it. When I ask why, she doesn't really have a solid reason, just says it doesn't interest her.

In her defense as well - where we live - they are freaking everywhere - I mean all over, like I see at least a dozen every day to and from work. As such, it doesn't really stand out.

That Mazer is terrible. Save yourself the time. Jag is a much better car in every way.

The F-Type coupe is on my short list of cars to own someday. Are you specifically looking for RWD models? I know people love the V8 in this car, but I think the sweet spot is the supercharged V6 with the 6MT, although they are rare.
