There is way too much ambiguity going on ITT.

Does the comfort access work properly without dealer coding?

Any explanation why 2014 won't work? Other than assumptions..?
I might go DIY if MY 2014 works but DK is not worth much more euros IMO.

To the folks inquiring about whether this will work on any BMW outside of i8: the coding is done at BMW before the key is shipped and is specific for the VIN. BMW Dealerships are not going to take the order of this key without the VIN Number matching to an i8. Much like how Canadian Dealerships that do not sell 'i' models refused to order this key for me.
So, unless you can find a way of getting this key and coding it yourself, I don't see how this would work for any other model. Furthermore, the operating system of this key is hard-coded for an operation of i8, i.e., displaying the Electric Charge / Fuel information, preconditioning and etc. So, unless BMW releases a new o/s wrapper for the key (like they did for 7 Series), the most meaningful information that can be displayed (theoretically) is windows / sunroof closed, doors locked and etc. |

Give them the part number, that should make the conversation easier and less confusing. |
