I have a 200 bottle fridge in my office which is full, a 48 bottle cooler in the kitchen which is also full and bottles in a kitchen cabinet…. I might have a problem!

That’s a lot of wine. My brother in law has thousands of bottles in offsite storage. If these are problems, they seem like good problems to have I suppose.

How often do you open a bottle? The interesting thing is we don’t drink a ton at home - usually when grilling steaks, which isn’t as frequent as it once was. We drink more often by taking bottles to restaurants. Then there is the habit of buying and storing for years.

We need to drink more at home, go out to eat more often and buy less I guess. (Probably drink and eat more.)

Most is longer term storage, have some Bordeaux from 1990 I got from my dad, some 1963 port, and the general stuff I’ve purchased over the years. We do drink the wines but tends to be special occasions. After losing all my wine in Katrina you’d think I’d know better and just enjoy it but I’m not that bright.

I don’t drink much and go through phases where J would have a few bottles of wine a week, and then nothing for a long time. Sometimes it’s beer, and sometimes it’s whiskey. I have whiskey bottles opened a few years ago and still aren’t finished. Definitely not gonna buy anything for a while until I have space on the racks.

Good call. Bread and Butter is good. I like the Pinot Noir.

I’m really enjoying the Clio, it’s my favorite wine of 2022. Trouble is it’s sold out everywhere. The Juan Gil Silver Label Monastrell and the Blend are both outstanding. And at $12.99 a bottle it’s a steal. Drink it chilled and decant for an hour.

Nice but I’m more intruded by what’s in the frames behind the bottles! Can’t make out what they are, not stock certificates are they? Old bonds with coupons?

Edit: I collect old maps and stock certificates.

We just bought a 155 bottle dual temp zone wine fridge and it has maybe 120+ bottles in it that I have had for a little bit. My collection has dwindled a little. LOL.

Before my parents house burned down, my dad had between 700 - 800 bottles! That shit is insane and I can't even imagine losing that much wine all at once. I mean I lost 5 1/2 cases in that same fire cuz I stored some of my wine there.

I say this to make a point, you can't take it with you! Buy what you like and drink it, don't hold on to it cuz shit happens

Opened this for tonight. I forgot I had it. Have never tried AXR, but heard good things from the guy at the wine store when I bought it 4 years ago.

And what was your impression of it? Great wine or just a guy trying to sell wine?

So it is ok. Not the best, and certainly not the worst. I paid $65 for the bottle, and it was worth the price. Mrs Hubba had a bottle of 19 crimes open, (her dd), and we did a taste test. It was much better than that. Smooth finish, which is the main thing to me. I would spend it again, but not going out of my way to look for it. I am curious about their reserve. Reserve is WAY more expensive. Maybe someday... Next time in Napa will go for a tasting. Looks like they have a nice setup.

They’re alcohol tax stamps. My dad is a stamp collector and put these together for us. Not sure if they were on the actual bottles or just away to show a tax was paid. He’s done a ton of different topics. When I’m at work I take some photos of the car stamp collections he’s put together.
