I'm still waiting to be able to send mine in for an upgrade

Was going to months ago, and decide to hold off. Ended up screwing myself.

Call me biased, but LS50 Meta is an absolutely amazing monitor. So cool that their price is affordable. I truly can't wait to get an active pair of Metas (LS50 Wireless II) for my office!

The previous-generation LS50 was already a spectacular monitor. Stereophile Magazine's annual Recommended Components bible gives the original LS50 their highest rating an "A (Restricted Extreme LF)" and at $1500/pr is far less expensive than any other loudspeaker achieving this rating. One popular reviewer recently called the original LS50 "the best loudspeaker released in the 21st Century." Can praise get any higher?

https://www.stereophile.com/content/...n-loudspeakers

The new LS50 Meta is completely redesigned and the improvement is NOT subtle. Transparency, detail, and output are all very much improved. The best part is the price is the same $1500/pair. KEF dealers in my area of responsibility are super psyched because they know KEF has delivered a spectacular value in a true audiophile-worthy monitor.

Apple Watch 6 40mm GPS (No cellular)

So far I like it a lot. The screen blows away the screen on my Garmin Fenix 5 and for most uses I think it's equal to the Garmin , if not better. And having full email, Whatsapp, and Messages right there on the watch beats the tiny notifications I could get on the Garmin. The remote control for the camera in my iPhone is pretty cool, although other than the occasional selfie out on a bike ride, I don't know how often I'd use that.

Gotta say even without hearing it that's a beautiful monitor.

I use it when on road trips with the wife and there is nobody around to take a picture of us. Instead of setting a timed shot and running into place you have a little more control and can see to make sure you're centered and everything.

I don't use the Camera Remote often but it's handy.

My absolute favorite Apple Watch function is to ping your iPhone so you can find it. I probably use this feature at least a couple of times a week.

This was on my original apple watch.... so....

But I agree very useful. I also use the water drop function a lot (stops face input until the crown is turned)

After I workout I like to wash my watch so I use this feature often! Gotta keep it stank-free!

Very much like. What are your plans? Oddly enough, I think my favorite feature of those is the triple wipers

I should be posting my own picture to join you in the Toyota club soon enough.

Yeah, i hit the wipers on the test drive and my wife let out a little squeal when she saw there were 3. She appreciates weird vehicles as much as I do.

It's replacing our 89 Delica camp/ski mobile that we just sold. So the basic plan is to outfit for camping, skiing, and longer road trips than we dared take in the Delica. I kept our ARB awning and zip in tent room from the Delica build to that'll get installed as soon as I trash the OEM roof rack and replace with a full roof Baja rack. Then It'll just be bolt on parts let steel bumpers, skid plate, winch, Jerry cans, lighting, a bigger tires. I actually like the OEM wheels. May have them powder coated bronze. Sleeping platform inside. That about it. No crazy suspension or engine mods. We want it to get us around comfortably, reliably, in all conditions. Going to venture out to Yellowstone, Tahoe, Moab, Black Hills, etc. over the next year or two as work schedules allow.

Nice! I love those things! Came really close to buying one a few years ago, but the guy thought he had Range Rover and wanted WAY too much for it. My only dislike is the white top. They should have made black and gray an option. Congrats!

I actually like the white top. Reminds me of an old Range Rover or FJ-40.

Yeah, prices are bananas on these right now. Based on what we paid, ours has depreciated all of 5% since 2014. We looked at a ton of them in the mid to upper $20k range that were basket cases, high miles, beat to shit. We sucked it up and paid for the last model year and super low miles (60k). the thing is mint. Looks brand new inside and out, but boy did it cost us.

On the flipside, the Delicas are also in high demand and goin for crazy dollars. We sold that one for a laughably high sum of money so that helped a bunch.

I think the only reason I disliked the white top was that I was looking at a black one. yeah, considering Toyota, pricing is crazy on these. I won't lie, I kinda hate that you got rid of the Delica. That thing was bad ass too.

Sounds like a good and reliable setup. It's great with the off-road variant of Toyotas... Drive them a hundred thousand miles and sell it five years later for what you bought it for. Great recipe. We'll have similar plans for trips, but just out here in the east. Wish we could get to what you guys have out there...

I've been a Jeep guy since day 0 (mom was pregnant with me in her little CJ, my first car was a Wrangler, list goes on), but I'm in the middle of cutting a deal for a final year 80 Series Land Cruiser right now. Crazy to think out of the dozens of vehicles I've owned, this will by my first Toyota. Pretty stoked.

I was reading through your post quickly and saw that it reminded you of a Range Rover and was thinking... "You mean it didn't remind you of a 40 series...?" Got ahead of myself.

My uncle bought one of these new back in the day; I don't think he had it for a week and he brought it in to have the white painted to match the body. Sleek look, but just didn't seem right...

Trust me, I hate myself too. My wife actually cried as the new owners drove away and she gives ZERO fucks about things like cars. That van was like a member of our family. Selling it felt almost on par with the idea of giving one of our dogs away.

But the reality is that I spent more time than I have to spare working on it and we never felt free to just jump in and drive more than 100 miles. Anything beyond about 100 miles was this huge production of loading up tools, critical supplies, etc. "just in case"... we want to do a multi-week trip this winter. Ski in Montana. Wind our way down through Zion. Then over to Palm Springs to warm up and visit my folks before driving back to Seattle up the Pacific Coast Highway. 3,300 miles round trip. Wouldn't think twice about it in the FJ. The Delica though? Not a chance!
