Gun Laws in California

Heres my rant. 18 turning 19 years old. I can only legally own rifles and shotguns. But, it makes me flustered letting my douche of a step-dad put the pistols under his name until i'm 21. He thinks he can "allow" me to use them. Screw California and their gun laws. When I turn 21 i'm buying a 20 gun pistol safe for the 5k in pistols im buying. /end rant

Never post your age on a public forum.. People don't take you as seriously if your age still ends in "teens"

Ha most definitely. I believe that as a college student that I am a young man. My ID does say that I am 22 though, so that helps a bit.

I think it's a federal law, not a California law. I've never seen a state allow pistol ownership to anyone under 21.

Old enough to be shipped off to some shithole country to die for the sake of liars in Washington

Too young to protect yourself at home with a handgun

Go America go

Don't act like a shotgun isn't an adequate home protection weapon. There's a good reason why 18-20 year olds are not permitted to purchase handguns....the majority of them are too irresponsible.

In most states you are perfectly within your rights to possess pistols in your own home at 18 years old, you just can't buy them or transport them anywhere else (except to a range or event in some states). California has got to be about the worst though.
