i always thought money only really mattered when your looking into high end schools this was just at my local state college nothing special

The point was more that for local schools, anyone with a checkbook can attend smart, dumb, inbetween, it doesn't matter as long as the check clears.

Nothing at all! I was only responding to the comment that another poster didn't know how people like that can get into college and I was explaining that there is no real IQ or maturity level requirement for many schools.

This is the true reason. Not IQ. Some freshmen aren't even 18 yet when the attend school. Sadly enough, some of the 22 year old seniors are just as immature.

very true i was only 17 when i was a freshmen in college and I'm not going to lie I was pretty immature coming right out of high school...fast forward to my junior year now I'm way more mature (or at least i think i am lol)

I goto a state university and pay for it myself. The thing that pisses me off is all the ghetto trashy disrespectful ignorant morons that dont have to pay a cent. One of my professors during the first semester of my freshmen year asked the class "Why did you decide to come here?" and all the average hard working students said things like "It offeres Degrees or Courses I'm interested in" "It was the most affordable" "It was close to home" you get the idea, but then the pieces of crap said "because they gave me the most money". What the fuck! I'm not upset about the kids who worked hard and want to better themselve and just happen to be from a shitty area or a poor family. The thing that I'm pissed about is the fucking douche bags that don't care, don't come to class, waste the money they are GIVEN on dumb shit, and act like pieces of shit. I think it's horse shit that just because your poor or black or poor and black you are GIVEN money to goto college. Any aid should be dicided on an individual basis. Ya I'm white, I went to decent schools growning up and my family is upper middle class. However, my dad past away and my mom lives in another state. My mom hasnt and wont give me support with college and while my father was alive he didnt either. So, I pay for everything myself, but because I'm an white male from an upper middle class family the school doesnt give me shit and I WANT TO BE THERE AND WORK HARD! While these leeches of society who dont want to be there and dont show up or do any work are given buckets of money. I didn't just relize this and I know life isn't fair. I just had to rant because when I saw the picture it reminded me of all the ignorant crap these people do around my campus and they are paid to be there.

Dude, I think you're way off base. There are tons of white upper-middle class kids with scholarships. In fact, that's probably the demographic with the most scholarships granted each academic year.

I totally agree with you. I decided to attend a city college my freshman year. It's absolutely horrible how many students who are literally just going to school because they get 10k+ a semester to attend school while paying NOTHING, because they get free books and pay $8.00/unit. All while i've thrown down close to 2k just to pay for books and classes with absolutely no financial aid. Sure I live in a pretty good neighborhood. Yeah my parents cumulative income is over 170k, but come on!!!

By no means am I a racist of any type, but there is not any white people who are on this boat. In california there are tens of thousands of dollars available to mexicans/blacks just by filling out a piece of paper. I, as a white person feel neglected, but can sense the irony knowing that in ten years when i'm making 200+k with my communications and business degree they will be the ones who are asking me if I want fries with that.
