I have the 6NH System. What I want is the ability to turn on the generator at the 74% point. Can mine be coded for that?

Yes, no problem. When do you plan on being in the SoCal area?

What does "Hands-free Bluetooth and USB audio connection" have to do with Rex?

It would be an interesting trip. Not sure. I guess my one concern would be having the new coding being overwritten by a BMW update. It is a long way to go to have it redone.

Separate, but both 6NS coding and extended range/hold SOC are included in the same price/session.

That is a risk you take. Alternatively, you get it done remotely.

Can't send you a PM since your account is new, email or call me directly and I'll get you scheduled in.

Another Happy Customer.. In and Out process. Gave me exactly what I wanted from the options and explained a few other coding options available that I wasn't aware of.

Thanks Tom and EAS.

It's not a risk, it's a fact of life.

Your coding WILL get overwritten by the dealer the next time you go for service. Or the time after the next, at the latest.
BMW issues new software updates for i3's at least twice per year, and pays the dealers for the time it takes to install it. Therefore, all dealer techs are super-diligent about applying latest BMW i3 firmware updates.

a

P.S.: It's exactly the opposite with all other bimmers - BMW NA does not normally pay for software updates to other cars, like M3. Thus, you need to get creative to convince the dealer to apply it for free (if you so desire). Which would, also, overwrite all custom coding settings.

I know BMW's that never got updates for 5 years. But, unfortunately, you are unlikely to be so lucky with the history of i3/i8 recalls for programming.

I know a guy who found an M5 in a barn that hadn't been driven for 6 years, and bought it for $10K. After $500 of service, it's now a $25K car.

Most of us are unlikely to be so lucky...

"No" to barn treasures.
"Yes" to high probability of coding over-writes during dealer visits.

YMMV,
a
