$20,000: What car to buy?
A co-hockey coach of mine is in the market for a new or used car. He want's to spend around $20,000. He wants something fun to drive, any suggestions would be appreciated.

OK, maybe not that fun to drive. He doesn't have the reputation of a BMW driving enthusiast. I'm pretty sure he wants a sedan too.

thats a good one.they're not that cheap anymore though.VW's are nice.I had a jetta vr6 bored from 2.8 to 3.1L.It was a little monster.

Seriously, I can't think of anything else i'd buy at 20k than the Honda Civic Si. The GTi is a little north of 20k, so is the Cooper S and the Mazdaspeed3. A base Miata would make a great foundation for an auto-x or track car but its not practical. The WRX is also north of 20k. The Sentra SE-R looks half-baked.
Si comes with 17" wheels, ltd slip, a slick 6MT, VSA, curtain airbags, moonroof etc etc so its great value as well.
