Sunroof opened just a little
I had a weird one last night. The sunroof on my BMW i3 was cracked open when I came to my car this morning.
I unlocked the car and tried to close it and it wouldn't close, I had to open it some more before it would close. I tested the convenience feature of holding down the unlock button, which causes the windows to go down before the sunroof starts to open, but in this case, the windows weren't down. I checked my security cameras, and the sunroof opening didn't move enough to trigger the motion detection, and neither did it trigger for anyone near the car. I found one other post about someone having this, but no real conclusion as to why. All I can think of is this is some sort of overheat protection, but it wasn't that hot yesterday. Fortunately, it didn't rain last night. I welcome any ideas so I can fix it and keep my car inside dry? |

Have you tried performing a sunroof reset or reinitialization procedure to recalibrate the sunroof's position and sensors?
