Not my car, found on Facebook.

Atlantis Blue Metallic
M-Performance CF front splitter
M-Performance 20-inch Night Gold

The owner also got the car PPF'ed and ceramic coated.

Thought to share it given its uniqueness, at least up until now. Probably the first i4 in this color in the world.

The color is Atlantis (without the “Blue”), maybe 15mm spacers all around, and everything else will be really outstanding.

Very likely true. The owner of this car mentioned the choice of this color meant he had to wait longer for the car. Worth the wait according to him.

Yup, individual Manufaktur paint and interior options will take longer to complete, depending on what the customer selects. Just an individual paint can extend the lead time by 4-6 weeks.

Now the delays for individual paint is something that makes no sense to me ... if you've ever done a BMW factory tour, you know the way the production line works, they run different color cars 1 after the other and the robots change out tools, parts, etc. on their own.

Paint seems like something that should not cause any delay, especially a factory BMW paint color .... it's not like you asked for and got approved for another manufacturer's color that they don't already have the formula pre-programmed into the computer!

But it's not like they have all paint colors ready. I worked in an automotive paint shop some years ago and there were standard colors that we specified and PPG and others would ship it by the 55 gallon drum.

So while they can readily switch between what is loaded that does not mean that all 150 colors are available all the time.

Also some colors have a low run rate so they batch the cars together to consum a drum or whatever they use these days.

I just assumed that the "back-end" was loaded with a bunch of "primary colors" and they were mixed to the right color via "recipe"

Why a manufacturer want to have all possible colors available in inventory when few colors are applied every 10000 vehicles?

For example, this Atlantis color in particular was applied to exactly 59 F8x M3 in 4 years of production. It is not cost effective to have the Atlantis color mix for 30000+ vehicles produced, to paint only 59. I used to have one of those 59.

BMWAG already announced that they are improving their paint shop process to accelerate the Individual color offers across all models, even in SC with the X models, so this will reduce the lead times considerably sooner rather than later.

I wouldn't have minded waiting 4 weeks for a different color, especially after I've waited a year for the car. it was more, dropping the 5k on paint that won't affect resale at all, and who knows how long I'll actually keep the car. I originally had an M3 long beach blue on order which is very similar to atlantis. I backed out of that order and switched to the i4. I know if I got the M3 I would keep it forever, so the cost made more sense.

Not quite that simple. For example, the bumpers and rocker panels come from a supplier and not painted in-house. Just a thought of how this could add extra time for logistics, and as you know, that's a mess everywhere in the world at the moment.

Did you see this on the Visualizer page for the i4 M50?

"Please note that with U490 BMW Individual paint the function “Lane change assistant”, which is a part of option 5AU “Driving assistant professional” has to be deactivated. This happens by adding option 8TR "decoding additional function".

...and my beloved Interlagos Blue is not on the visualizer. Loved that colour on my M3 Competition!

P.S.
Google 2022 M4 in Twilight Purple. I think I found my new FAVOURITE COLOUR. Wow! Stunning!!

Curious to know where you got the numbers. I have a Java Green X5 45e in production right now, and would like to know how many X5 in general and 45e are in this color.

It is a great color.
Another color that is killer is techno violet.
I had an E36 M3 that color with individual interior.

There is a thread in the F8x forum with number vehicles with Individual colors produced - I do think that the color list is only for F8x and no other BMW, though.
