vehicle theft replacement

Good evening, my car is docking this Sunday, today I went to finalize my deal. I found a $499 cost for vehicle theft replacement
Any one know what this is and why I am being charged for this without asking for it?

Probably just the dealer installed options crap they tend to throw in. Like a LoJack or similar system as if they don't all come with satellite location systems anyway. Or maybe some insurance policy?

Some dealerships just do it by default and then you have to hassle with them to avoid paying for it.

It's illegal in NJ to force you to pay for this unrequested/unordered mandatory dealer add-on

Thank you, I spoke to them today, just another way to make money.. I was upset they added it without asking first!

I was able to get them to give me back my money for the stargard. I said I was ok with a parts department credit so I can buy a roof rack, floor mats, etc as I was going to buy them anyways, but I certainly didn't need a tracking device as the vehicle already has one.
