I am going to take a wild guess and say the OP lives in either Bellaire or West U.

I still can't believe they actually made this car. I do plenty of whining about what BMW won't do but my faith is restored every time I read about this car.

So our dealer was really embarrassed as they've not been taught how to use the car correctly, luckily though, Walter DeCesaris has been a great guy to us and he was on his way to pick us up as soon as we told him we had an issue. He suspected it was because of "Transport Mode" but wasn't sure. All is well that ends well, however. Since then, the car has been great - I can't believe just how friendly people are in coming to talk to you about it. |

MPG: now, the 76 MPGe is possible, as long as you have electric charge. The best thing is, the most inefficient part of driving is whilst accelerating to cruising speed, the electric power lets you do this with no gas and then the combustion engine can cruise at a steady, low RPM. Even whilst driving around in sport for the last two days, we got 26 MPG out of it. However, when we tried driving in normal, not even ECO PRO mode, we had it up 69 without going for an economy drive. |

It looks like the frame says BMW West, so I'm going to guess somewhere off of Briarforest, vs near the loop.

Is the Z8 the Alpina version or the manual with the S62 engine from the E39 M5? My friend had one and sold it because of fears about the strut tower hats cracking. He keeps kicking himself for letting it go.

Not too bad, they did a good job going for the dihedral doors rather than gullwings - it means that they open in a relatively small space. Still not as easy as normal doors, but worth it when they look this cool haha!

So we had major concerns about the struts cracking and the chassis bending too, but the BMW Z8 owners club do a great job of solving stuff like that - there's now something, been around for quite a while, from BMW called the "Performance Package". It is a strut brace bar across the engine bay and also has really strong new heads for the strut towers. In the community no one has seen their Z8 have the problem with the struts after they fit it! To my knowledge, at least. |

Man, the 4 is such a lovely design. Not driven one, really would love to. I really like the 4GC too, BMW and their marketing really has us! haha |
