About how era of environmental friendly cars. Honestly nothing beats a gas guzzling engine. Like ones found in some of those high end exotics.

But it cant go on forever. Lucky to be part of the experiment. And my kids will be the generation that grows up with electric.

Well the i3 smokes an e92 M3 to 30, so there is some performance to be had and expanded on. I don't think one can say that about the Prius.

Not to sound rude, but I don't like it when detailed and amazing photography is done for changes that only amount to a few painted reflectors, lowering springs, and wheels.

If you are going to showcase something, you have to put some more custom touches that really show there was some serious craftsmanship and mechanical work done.

That being said, I have seen a lot of other cars by IND that were aaammmaaaazziinnngggg! For example the green e92 M3! Once you have that level of work done to a car, then its worth showing

Your ability to discern is spot on. First link relates to issues of lowered springs for BMW owners to take note of in order to make a better informed decision for themselves. While this has no bearing on the product brand within this thread, the option in itself, may have issues that are worthy of consideration for both i3 & i8 owners who use their cars for daily use (non-track).

Second link was to lighten up the discussion pertaining to the underlying issues resulting from this thread.

Pardon my recalcitrance, narrow mindedness and inability to convey these subtle ideas effectively. I should have taken a more linear minded approach towards this thread as you called for.

I must apologize. As mind-numbingly valuable your links and contributions have subjectively been to this thread, to avoid any further digression, I must reiterate that these are terrific options for those looking to modify an i3/i8 (or really any BMW for that matter).
IND will help you with any of your goals...

i3 haters need to call your local dealers and schedule an extended test drive, the car just GROWS on you. I picked one up 24 days ago and probably day 6 or 7 I decided its electric for me from here on out.

I don't much care for the wheels offered on the i3 but I hope people buy them and more options are made available. Just to note, those are not fog-lights on the i3, those are the high-beam headlamps. IND's description says "Gloss black foglight surrounds."

Love the aftermarket wheels for the i3 and i8. I'm personally not a huge fan of the looks of either car but for those who are it's nice to know that there are wheel options since OEM wheels are pretty limited and imho, ugly across the entire brand.

Saw this i3 at bimmerfest, I think it looks pretty good, it really shows off the electric blue.

Putting mods on an i car is like going to a kosher restaurant and ordering a ham and cheese. It goes against the entire point.

Saw these today at bimmerfest. The i8 looks awesome and in person I could walk around it and see the blue in the wheels.

The i3 looks dope too.

I love to personalize my cars and it I had an I i3 - I would mod it. I wouldn't try and turn it into a performance vehicle but I wouldn't cry if my personalization cost me a few mpg.

Then go post somewhere else.

Bunch of iSNOBS in here.

I didn't post electric car mods.
It's clear what you posted

It's a complement to BMW-i that people want to personalize and customize these new cars. Props to IND accordingly.
I'm not sure how many people actually do want to modify their i car. I suspect the number is unbelievably small. As I stated in my original post... I hope this, and every i mod program is a dismal failure. Just my opinion.
Why don't you take your attitude problem somewhere else.

BMW understood much better what to do on wheels with this model range. they are aerodynamic, contribute to less fuel consumption etc. Some very awesome interpretation to 80s dustbin cover style rims would have been a lot nicer for this car IMHO, not your boilerplate BBS/Racing style rims that work alright on standard BMWs.

The car has a great reception. It is only natural anyone in the business wants its success rub off on its own business.

Posuers can have lower front ends. Real drivers? No.
I drive my car hard and unlike you I'm not referring to parking lot. Fast on the streets and slow in the parking lots

As for the i8, the three things you offer aren't practical or attractive.

First, blocking out a safety device is problematic, both from a legal and a liability perspective. Second, lowering the front lip would be catastrophic for those of us who live in areas with less than perfectly maintained roads (like all of the U.S.). And third, the blue wheels are hideous and different wheels for the sake of being different doesn't seem to cut it. Especially when BMW has designed the wheels on the i8 specifically for the i8. The W and turbine wheels are unique. Yours aren't.

Thank you for the feedback!

IND Distribution has been a vendor on BimmerPost from about 2006 forward- almost since the forum's inception! All of us at IND have loved BMW cars (and modifying them) since the late 90s, and we pride ourselves in offering solutions for all BMW cars. Certainly not all solutions are for all people, but that is the joy of customizing BMW's wonderful vehicles- what works for some does not work for others, and it is a pleasure to modify a vehicle to your specific tastes.

The i3 is our personal shop car, and as people who work in the industry, we did certainly take some liberties in selecting an impactful color scheme, and a lower overall ride. The i8 is owned by one of our clients, and has taken the slightly more conservative route. One of my favorite aspects of the HRE wheels for the i3 and i8, however, is that they were carefully measured to be the correct width and offset for the cars- each set of wheels carefully preserves the driving dynamics of both cars. I personally love both choices!

I'm glad to see that you love the i8 as much as we do.

Thank you! We feel that this car is a fun entry into the electric car market. One can clearly see that BMW took some liberties with the design, and did not intend to create a boring or conservative vehicle. We ran with this on our end, and had fun modifying the car to our tastes.
The amount of professionalism in this response is insane!! Perfection!!

I think you summed it up perfectly but I'm afraid not as you intended...

A1 sauce was designed to "cover up" sub-par steaks.

I'm surprised, then, that the modified and lowered i8 you drive hard has not had any front end problems. Thank you for setting me straight.
