How accurate is your 360 camera system?

How accurate is your 360 camera system. To demonstrate how inaccurate it is in the i8, I parked it on the lines and took pics of the view inside. For comparison my X5 shows exactly where the car is. Is it because of the shape of the car? The car is shown to be bigger as it really is.

Looks pretty much like mine.
Although I'd like to point out that the 360 degree view isn't really to be used for centimeter precision, which is why you have the other audio/visual helps as well (to the right in you picture)

Regarding the "why" it is shown larger on the screen, only one of the tech/developers can tell. My own bet is that it falls in the "better safe than sorry" kind of category. Maybe a future software update will adjust this.

Mine is like yours, firmly on the safe side. I noticed the same but now think of it as "margin."

Definitely prefer it this way vs being on the other side!

Garage List
As to the difference between the X5 and i8's surround...you know the X5 is a lot taller and therefore requires less interpolation of the images, ie less distortion? The wider the angle the more distortion. The x5's cameras have the advantage of having a higher point from which to produce their "birds eye view" just like a bird.... I'm sure BMW would like it to be more accurate too...but they haven't figured out how to beat physics yet.

And yes, I'm feeling salty today.
