Expensive fully equipped

If you get most of the options on an i4 M50 it gets expensive. Assuming that we get the $7500 tax credit it comes out to $75,720. Without the tax credit it is $83,220. I think I got the combinations of options correct below.

Code:
Item	Price	Description
i4 M50	65900
C31	550	Portimao Blue Metallic
MAH7	1450	Black Vernasca Leather
ZDH	1750	Dynamic Handling Package
ZDY	1700	Driving Assistance Professional Package
ZMP	2400	M Sport Package
ZPK	700	Parking Assistance Package
ZPP	1050	Premium Package
ZTK	2500	Cooling and High Performance Tire Package
2VF	700	Adaptive M Suspension
4FH	350
5AZ	1000	Icon Adaptive LED Headlights with Laserlight
688	875	Harman Kardon surround sound system
6DR	100	Drive Recorder
6NX	200	Wireless Device Charging
6U3	1000	BMW Curved Display with HUD
Destination	995
Total	83220
Tax Credit	-7500
Final	75720
Pricing of other cars for comparison...
Model Y performance $65,000 (no "self driving", questionable build quality).
Polestar 2 $65,000 (long range, dual motor, performance, leather). Final price with tax credit $57,500.
Mustang Mach-e $69,900 (GT Performance, co-pilot). Final price with tax credits $62,400.

If you take performance, range, luxury features into account the i4 is probably "fairly" priced compared to these options. It looks like the i4 has the typical BMW "premium" pricing.

Remove the sport package, dynamic handling and suspension.

They do not apply for the M50 all standard. You did not read the ordering guide correctly.
That removes $4850 on cost.

I don't understand what you are fully loading a M50 with all the options like HUD when the Tesla doesn't have a comparison.

You add the lighting package and the Tesla also has no comparison.

You add $1450 for leather and Tesla has no leather.
You add the tire package when it isn't necessary and adds $2400
You also add the driving assistance that provides hands free in traffic but not FSD to the Tesla.

So subtract $4850 for some stuff that doesn't apply along with $1000 for HUD, $1450 for leather, $1000 for lights and $2500 for wheels.

Total of $9800 in stuff in error or not available on a Tesla. I left all the ADAS on the BMW.

$75720 - $9800 = $66k +/-

I don't understand why people want to fully load a BMW when the standard with only the HK is a comparable car to the TM3/Y. If you aren't adding FSD then you shouldn't be adding all the driver assist on the BMW. Tesla's don't have leather so why do people check that box on the BMW? The lighting on the BMW without laser is better than a Tesla.

Messed up my configurations

You guys are correct. I did not read the build sheet correctly. This is my corrected build sheet.
Code:
Item	Price	Description
i4 M50	65900
C31	550	Portimao Blue Metallic
MAH7	1450	Black Vernasca Leather
ZDY	1700	Driving Assistance Professional Package
ZPK	700	Parking Assistance Package
ZPP	1050	Premium Package
ZTK	2500	Cooling and High Performance Tire Package
4FH	350	Front ventilated seats
5AZ	1000	Icon Adaptive LED Headlights with Laserlight
688	875	Harman Kardon surround sound system
6DR	100	Drive Recorder
6NX	200	Wireless Device Charging
6U3	1000	BMW Curved Display with HUD
Destination	995
Total	78370
Tax Credit	-7500
Final	70870
There was some serious durr on my part when I did my first configuration. As to adding options that are not available on the Tesla to my i4 build... the whole point of buying an i4 over a Tesla (for me) is that the i4 has options that the Tesla does not. I'm perfectly happy to pay for leather and laser lights. At the end of the day I want an electric BMW not an electric car. There are going to be haters but I like all the luxo-barge options that you can get on BMW's.

Yeah, I just wanted to point out that as an equivalent to a TM3P you don't need to add much to the i4 M50.

On the other hand, I like you, want an electric BMW not just an EV. My last car was a 335i with premium and M package. The car before that was a M3 with individual color and extended leather.

My i4 build checks all the boxes including the carbon package. My wife and daughter told me to "Go big or go home."

Nice build…. Same options, except I’m going San Remo Green + Cognac…. I’m a touch miffed that I can’t get ventilated seats with that interior though…. And no option for leather dash

Yeah I know how you feel.
I wanted the cognac true M seats as in the EU.
I also wanted the leather dash and paint black trim.

I was told, maybe, just maybe the leather dash can be ordered as an individual option.

It looks like BMW NA just took the 440 Gran Coupe build sheet and used it. They didn't bother to ask "what is possible?" and went safe

Oh well. At least the HUD is still there.
