Does anyone know if you can order the 20" wheels without the Cooling and High Performance Tire Package?

... I'm unhappy that you cant get the leather dash or ///M seatbelts, along with the ///M seats on US-spec M50's.... My SA tried to add the option codes manually, but they aren't even listed. Guess once the i4M launches, we'll see more of the ///M bits.

The ordering guide is built by BMW NA and they just mirrored the M440i guide. In other regions the options exist.

I have the same issue. I want the seats and the dash. It won't or is not a deal breaker for me.

I have the leather dash on my 2018 530e. It is very nice and it is Nappa (as is my upholstery). But unless you have Nappa or Merino leather, IMHO it will be discordant to have the leather dash and the sensatec dash will look better as it will match the seat material.

As an aside, if your decision is between Sensatec and Vernasca, my personal opinion is I would opt for the Sensatec. But if you can get Nappa or Merino, go for it.

So does ZTK (Cooling and High Performance Tire Package) actually bring extra cooling to the drivetrain? It just seems like a carry over wording from the ICE cars. There's no other EV on the market where you can spec higher cooling capabilities, it just seems weird.

It's been changed in the US. The thread explanation is here:

The Model S Plaid has extra cooling over the standard model. I would not be surprised if the Taycan varies cooling by model too. There are huge power differences there.

Cooling is a really big deal for the battery packs, it was one of the reasons earlier Teslas had issues with longer track sessions.

Tesla always made fun of EV's having grills because they are not needed. Yet their Model S plaid has a pretty big lower grill to bring in air to help with cooling. Audi is doing the same with their Etron.

Take a look at those gamer rigs they have a TON of cooling on them for performance.

But that's a completely different version of the Model S. What I'm talking about is upgraded drivetrain cooling on the samed version of a model.

But a Plaid isn't a completely different model.
It uses the same battery packs and upgrades three carbon wrapped motors.

It's a 3 motor Model S and ordered on the same page with a different selector.

But for other than bragging rights, a Plaid is a waste.of about $40k over the regular TMS. There are no upgrades besides switching to the tri-motor platform. You don't get better interior, etc.....

You haven't seen Spaceballs? I have a custom plate based on Spaceballs. OK, obsessing over a parody of a nerd movie might be lame, but nerd culture now rules supreme.

I'd not be surprised if that big grill is what causes all the Plaid's high-speed instability.

Really how fast to go from 0-60?
Under 4 seconds is all a matter of reaction time at this point.

Getting there is 2, 3 or 4 seconds is more a matter of bragging rights. After $80k you aren't really paying for huge jumps in performance. It's small increments.

Unless you are in Germany or some other speed friendly place; roads run out before cars do.

The MSP is a hell of an achievement but also, like every single Tesla, deeply flawed in far too many ways.
