I am in the same position as you but I am going to go out on a limb and say I do not like the expansive screens in the interior.

2023 BMW iX M60  [0.00]
I was going to put a deposit down, being refundable and having had a good experience in getting EV preorder deposits back I figured I could decide later. However, two pain points made me ultimately pass:

1) The car interiors just too much. It has a "jewelry" feel with the crystal knobs and minimal feel. It's the car interior from a D'ior commercial. I'm hoping we get a sportier "M" inspired interior at some point.

2) Whoever is running the marketing campaign should be fired. I got one email announcing that the iX was coming, and to sign up for updates, which I did. Then nothing until "preorders in 30 minutes!". Curious what the size of the thing was, I clicked through the website, which had almost no information. ~300 miles range, < 5sec to 60, that's about all they had for me. I've read about this car on auto blogs, so I know people are speculating it will be about the size of an X5, but who f*** knows, they can't be bothered to explain what you're ordering. There is WAY more info on this thread than a normal customer gets from official channels.

The final nail was that the lease is about $300 more than the car I have now, which as a similar MSRP to the iX. That's a hefty early adopter fee. I will wait to see if they do a sportier version and once they're released and out a year or so then incentives might pop up.

It will be manufactured in Dingolfing, Germany.
Nice, awesome! There's a possibility of doing a European Delivery if that program comes back post COVID-19.

Well said. I think we'll get used to the front, but the side profile is just tasteless. No comments on the sloped dashboard and centre tunnel/console deletion decision.

IMO Ford nailed it with F150 EV. BMW missed an opportunity here.

Was curious about the size comparison as well... (attribution - data from the www.bmw.ch site).

Agreed, truly a horrible lack of styling that Mercedes has ruined just about all of their interiors with. Looks like BMW felt the need to copy them.

iDrive 8 should be called iDrive 7.1 facelift, because that's really what it is. It's marginally different to iDrive 7 with a big facelift (UI/UX refresh) on top.

Wait I thought we already had the iX3... shouldn’t this be the iX5? And naming aside, why is everyone acting like this is a new thing when the iX3 was already released months ago?

Well one can only hope but even if they reinstate the program (which they won't) I think you might need a special adapter (or even charger) to charge your US spec'd car in EU? But maybe I'm wrong! Actually now that I'm thinking about it, would normal EU home outlets be considered as L2, since they have 240V?

Because iX3 is not sold in most markets outside China and Europe.
i4 and iX are the first long range EVs for global markets.

Idk, my wife says she’d drive it. Still holding onto my RS1 reservation though, looks more practical and SUV. And faster, cheaper.

Can manufacturers stop worrying about up selling leather and get back to making cars with personality ffs. I'm tired of seeing every car follow the rest of the pack.

One of the best luxury SUVs, the X5, should have been the goal here. Instead is a larger version of the i3.
I fall into this quoted over 50 bucket you mention. My e46 m3, and F15 will stick around. This car is the ugliest pos I have laid eyes on. Been driving BMW since the early 90's, I think those days are coming to an end. May go Audi or Porche, they seem to be getting better looking.

Sad really, I am brand loyal to the max, but hell each new release just pushes me away.

This is like between X5 and X7 a cheaper version will probably sell pretty well, though think this as it is would probably sell too, I mean I prefer to look at this than Tesla model X...
