Please let that carbon fiber gear shift trim fit my G20 M340i. I actually might be looking an a I4 as well. It would fit my current old ass. Major performance. I might be disappointed in the handling. My E90 M3 and 2004 330i ZHP handle like nothing currently. Have not driven the G80 though. Passed on all the F M3's.

It drives like an E90 but feels lighter, more nimble, and handles like a go kart.

Meanwhile, I have test driven every electric car I can get my hands on because I was interested in having one as a daily commuter and dog transporter. I was pleasantly surprised by the Model 3 and I am now considering getting one. After much research, I simply cannot justify the extra money spent on the i4 m50 so I will most likely get the model 3 performance. The reality, the model 3 is a good car. It's not just for tech fanatics. Watch for example the throttle house review whereby the guy is a though-and-through petrol head who always evangelises manual gearboxes and openly states the M2 is one of his favourite cars. But, when comparing to the model 3 performance he said it is very close, which he never thought he'd say. It would be more beneficial for people to appreciate the benefits of Tesla's and expect other manufactures, like BMW, to work those benefits into their own cars - performance, range, technology etc. Design and simplicity will always be subjective, but saying 'Tesla sucks' when they often have the best range, performance, charging infrastructure etc is over simplifying the car market. |

However far or fast one can go in a Tesla, a large sample of owners report differently. It's not about what it has...it's about how well it works. What could possibly be worth putting up with this?

Tesla doesn’t suck. It’s just not in the same class as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche. It feels futuristic in many ways, but it feels like the Toyota or Honda of the future. Not BMW.

I like CF gear selector. Standard gear lever on G20/2/6 feels like two-dollar toy, especially two piece plastic back.

The glossy carbon trim in the i4 I saw looked quite cheap/plasticky. I won't be getting that.

Alfa's lightning quick steering was only possible because it's EPS. It does have some road chatter, more than BMWs, but not like Porsche. No on-center deadness or vague feeling in my opinion.

There is absolutely no debate on this. Tesla Model 3 is noisier than a BMW 3 series cruising on the highway. And it doesn't have an engine. This by itself tells a lot.

You are wasting your time preaching Tesla in a BMW dedicated forum.
If I want a Tesla, I would be writing in a Tesla forum right now. And I can't see how BMW is "way behind" Tesla when you can't even get basic safety features like Cross Traffic Alert and Blind spot indicator; or convenient features like 360 degree camera, HUD or massage seats in a Tesla. |
