iX promo party in Seattle!
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com The only limitation was as a pre-prod car, not allowed to show the iDrive system running yet. I will have a full walk-around video up as soon as it's done!

Was the unit US-spec? Did it have a VIN? If so, Can you use the VIN to access the Owner's Manual? I'd love to see what's buried in that document.

Exterior excellent 10/10. Interior awful, looks too cheap.

Great shots! Some of them do a really good job at showcasing some of the unique design elements of this car. You really have to spend some time around the iX to truly appreciate what it's all about, you can't just go by some pictures and be good. Tons of little details that add up.

Reserve judgement until you've seen and experienced one in person. Pictures do not do this car justice. |

Guess that seeing it in person is essential, but that L shape (90 degree angel) on the front bumper looks odd to me. Doesn't really fit with any other lines…

Post Hofmeister Kink Design thoughts
I don't mind the post-Hofmeister kink design philosophy. However, that front-end design language is just downright hideous. Too early to tell, but sales will ultimately determine if they need to revise it.

Too bad the lighting conditions were terrible. Why give a preview and showcase a car like this in such a poorly lit venue? 🤦🏻

Thanks for sharing the photos of iX.
I am afraid while trying to create a segment leading EV SUV, for reasons unknown - BMW elected to put aside key elements of why current BMW customers buy X-series vehicles. Among them: - While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, styling reminiscent of Fiat Abarth DNA is a questionable departure from X5 - a runaway sales leader - "iPad on stilts" - "How can we integrate overstock Swarovski crystals" |

Wait, I thought there was going to be black cladding around the wheel arches, like the X Line X5? Looks better without, just surprised to see it that way.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to experience the iX and i4 in real life. Both Pre Production models. I'm totally fan of the i4
I've seen the new iDrive system, it looks really sharp. The High def screen is amazing. Main menu is cool, but behind it there is a app overview. Looks pretty much like a iPhone with all those icons. |

Things I like are the wheel design and the design on the seats.

Interior looks amazingly sparse, kudos to the engineering team behind that
To have that minimalist look while still exceeding safety/quality/NVH tests must of been a beotch |

All that copper inside and out is incredibly tacky.

It truly does. I leased an i3 for 2 years and when I saw the iX in person that's one of the first things I recognized. IMO it's good to see some of those styling cues continued in the i lineup. I noticed that too, and I'm wondering if that's just trim levels or market spec variations. Maybe the sport (M Sport? whatever they'll end up calling it) package has painted wheel arches, while the standard spec doesn't? |
