Definitely a step in the right direction. Now we need the ability to configure digital equivalents of vintage orange on black dials.

Why does she have to look at me like that whenever she makes a selection…

The thing is that it could be easily implemented. Just seems like BMW is being stubborn and does not want to give us the option to do that sadly.

Meh. I find the g80 more than enough. The I drive 8 looks quite ugly compared to 7 and doesn't feel sporty at all.

Bear in mind this video/interface is for the iX. Presumably/hopefully it will be tailored differently for M cars.

I think that in general, BMW's tech is the best in the industry - by far. But the glaring exception has been their digital instrument panel. iD8 is definitely playing catch-up in this area, but at least they're doing it. As others have said, I think BMW has been stubborn. This sort of UI is remarkably easy to implement when the will is there, and this is a step in the right direction. But they remain stubborn imo. Merc's IP offers a digital representation of traditional analog gauges and it amazes me that BMW refuses to offer something similar, especially when their traditional IP is one of the most iconic in the business. BMW's Germaness seems to be getting the better of them.

Vintage orange dials!!! I don't need navigation, maybe once i blue moon. I use google maps all the time on the phone. Give me old dials and basic info and let me enjoy drive! I have iPad at home.
