Oh yeah definitely.

When i get the car, it's going straight to get tint, PPF (probably just the front and rockers), then dropping it, alignment, do the 500 mile break in, then throwing the aftermarket wheels on.

I have an idea of what wheel i want to get, offsets i already know. Similar to that pic you posted which looks incredible. Not keen on the gold/bronze look, it's definitely going to be a black wheel. Regardless of what exterior color i choose.

Definitely exciting.

These cars don't need to sit lower, they need less guard gap.

You buying from Ciocca? If so, just have them do the PPF so it's done before you take delivery. That's my plan

Nah fuck those guys. I'm getting both of my C8's from macmulkin.

I know macmulkin also do in house PPF or perhaps send them to a nearby shop? Not sure.

But from the prices i've heard, i could get it cheaper at my tint guy. So one stop shop for tint/PPF with the guy local to me.

Having the dealer PPF your car before delivery sounds like an awful idea. There's at least a 50/50 chance it will look awful, and at least a 75% chance the paint won't be corrected perfectly before it's put on the car, and a 98% chance they will cut the PPF on the car instead of wrapping the edges. Seen way too many "my dealer did it" botched PPF jobs on brand new 911's, cut marks in the paint everywhere.

This.

Even on my lowly BRZ, I've told them to leave on all the protective wrapping and I'm driving it straight to a pro for paint correction/polishing and the PPF and ceramic.

In my experience, the dealers simply take the car to the same PPF shop and charge you more money to do the same job. It's rare that a dealer would have that kind of body-work stuff going on, they tend to contract out to body shops, because they specialize in this kind of stuff.

Yep, you just don't know who they are contracting out to. PPF/Ceramic isn't cheap, that's why I want to know exactly who is doing it and be able to see their work before hand.

If anything I’ll buy some track wrap, and quickly cover the front bumper and mirrors if I decide I wanna drive the car back.

But I heard it’s only 1100 to have it delivered so I may just do that. Idk yet.

DO NOT DO IT.

$1100 won't even cover just a ceramic coat from someone who knows what they are doing. The "shop" here, $6k for a full a PPF job.

The guy I'm using is going to be around $3k for a polish, front clip and rockers for PPF and ceramic coating the rest.

I'm talking about 1100 to have macmulkin deliver the car to my house.

Instead of me ubering there (or paying a "friend" to drive me there), plus the cost of the track wrap, the gas coming back and other "risks" that might occur during the drive home.

I think 1100 for the courtesy delivery might be worth it.

If i was leasing the car, i wouldn't do it. Same as i didn't do any of those things to my M3 lease. Because i don't care about the car when i give it back. Good luck to the 2nd owner.

But i'll be buying the stingray, as i don't know if i'm going to just sell it before my C8Z comes, or keep it alongside the C8Z.

The prices for these C8 stingrays are going to pull massive amounts of money for a good 2-3 years from now. So whatever it takes to keep it looking good for resale, that's what some of us gotta do.

I was being forgiving with 2-3 years. It could very well last even longer.

GM can't put out enough stingrays and with the z06 coming, the possible ERAY and the rumors about ZR1 testing?

Not many would be able to afford a 140k+ C8 variant so people will still buy stingrays and ERAY's. If the ERAY is priced under 100k.

Trust me, this C8 stingray will stay strong for it's entire production. This is the last pure ICE corvette generation.
