Pirelli P zero for i8?
I just saw Pirelli realized P zero for i8.
Did anyone try P zero on i8? (I would prefer PSS but since there is tire rub problem) |

BMW i8 p zero
Hi, I am sorry, I am new to these forums and just got a 2015 used i8 so excuse my newbie questions. Also, please excuse me for going a bit off topic here as I am not yet able to post a new thread.
I have to change tires as the current OEM sport tires are worn out bad. I called the dealer and they said the p zero nero are all season tires and only available for the rear wheels. Is that true? What would you do for the fronts? I am looking for a full set of 4 a/s tires if possible as I have no plans to use it in heavy snow, nor drive it hard, so do not want to switch summer and winter tires if possible. Are there any winter tires available that can work with the OEM wheels? Anyone hydroplane in i8? Another random question: Anyone try using spacers to lift the car? Experience? Thanks! My i8 is 2015 too and the original tires wore out quickly. The new P zero's I have are not all weather and there are on all 4 and they have pretty good grip. Never hydroplaned but never challenged it under those circumstances and I don't drive it in winter (but we've been to the track) |

BMW i8 p zero
Thanks guys. I am going to buy some p zero or potenza tires asap and keep them on until winter and then get a winter tire package of the MSW Type 71 wheels and Pirelli Winter Sottozero runflat tires. These are 19" diameter. Unfortunately I am having trouble finding all season wheel/tire package for the i8 and when I call BMW they are not able to help.

You are wise to get winter tires, despite the expense and hassle.

My tire dealer contacted Pirelli a month or so ago and the tires were not available for the i8. Pirelli reached out to me and stated they were increasing their model range in summer of '18.

P zeros installed both front and back. They're discernibly better all around in contrast to the original OEM Bridgestones in mild weather. I will see how they stack up this month under cold and wet surface conditions.
Overall, I would've preferred the PSS, which I have on the CL63 AMG and 650i GC, if only they manufactured them for i8's stock wheels. After trying a myriad of performance brands and models, the PSS seems to be the best performing tire for me thus far. |

Thanks! Are they the same tread wear rating as the stock Bridgestones?

Noise is in-discernable in contrast to the OEM Potenzas. Too early to tell on the tread life (less than 2,000 driven miles). However, as for performance, I notice the P-zeros are a bit stickier, leaning closer toward the handling characteristics of the Michelin Pilot Supersports, which are outfitted on my 650i GC and Merc CL63.
