If people pay more for an Aston Martin, then why not 165k for the roadster i8? It is one of the best looking cars in the market, even cars much more expensive than it. It’s more gas efficient than most cars, despite doing 0-60 in 3.6 seconds (Car & Driver 2015)?

because the aston has an engine (V12 or V8) & they have a certain appeal & they are very good looking cars. the i8 was a good looking car in 2014, 5 years later the roadster should
look at least a little different. the car under all perfect conditions in 3.8 & nobody has been able to get the same time since. it's a 4.0 second 0-60 car.
