W Spoke or Turbines
My 2018 i8 was spec’d with the W type 470 alloys from new by the previous owner.
I have never been a fan of these so decided to change them to the 625 Turbines with 15mm spacers all around. The turbines look much better on my storm trooper. A few before and after spacer pics also attached. Before: After Arches before and after spacers. |

youve got your rears on the wrong way around. They are N/S O/S specific. I like the turbines, but I prefer either in all black having had mine done, especially with the white paint...

Yes, rears are on wrong sides.
When I bought my i8 I wanted W spokes until I saw a car with turbines parked right next to the car I'd gone to see. After that, turbines all the way for me |

I have the turbines and definitely prefer them. I find the spiral design much more in keeping with the lines of the car, which are mostly smooth curves. To my eye, the W’s just don’t fit the car as well.

My pre owned i8 came with turbines, but at that time I liked the Ws better. So I bought them. Now I got the turbines fir summer and Ws for winter. I now like the turbines bit more.

BMW will probably put them back on the wrong side anyway! Wouldn't be the first time. Check the blue i8 that Jeremy Clarkson drove in top gear. Turbines on incorrectly

I like them both but decided the W looked more distinctive. Each to their own but much better than the other big bladed standard ones.
I know the W ones were an optional extra but were the turbines extra also? |

Personally, I prefer the W's more but both look great on the i8. I believe the W's are tiny bit lighter.

Unless the i8 was ordered with the Pure Impulse Design Package. Then either style was a no cost option. |

Yeah, I had no preference so went for the W's to save £200 lol. spent it and a bit more on blue seatbelts! Don't really care, just love the car still nearly 4 years in.

I love the turbine rims. I wish they were an available option in the USA.
The W are cool looking too, I had them on my last i8. But the turbine are boss! |

625 Turbines were an option pre-LCI in USA, but replaced by the lighter 516 in 2019.
