BMW extended warranty

Hi all,

My i8 will be 3 year old fairly soon.
Does anyone here have an extended warranty with bmw yet?

I've had this in the past and it's saved me thousands.

What can I expect to pay on an i8?

i extended it on my previous i8. Cost about £1k a year. Was worth it just for the peace of mind. Used it a couple of times on stuff such as locked fuel trap etc.

I bought one in March this year £1078 with a £100 excess, including European breakdown cover. You can select the excess to balance your view on risk.

Cheers. I'd expected about £90 per month, so that's about right.

I've had one for the past couple of years, I've found it to be well worth it. Most I've had a few warnings like low coolant and low oil. Each time I've called recovery, they've very promptly sent a pickup truck, and a replacement car (I've had i8s, 7 Series L fully kitted with massage seats etc, and M4s) sent within hours. They sort out my car and drop it back off (again on a transporter). It's zero hassle and absolute A class service.

Breakdown aside, I've had some issues, the boot wasn't catching, replacement belts etc. Last year it more than paid for itself.

I just budget it as the cost of owning the i8. Complete peace of mind.
