Defect Code 0061370800

A couple of people waiting for their iX deliveries reported open work orders with defect code 0061370800 (remote control parking) for their cars at either departure (Germany) or arrival ports. Does anyone, maybe analogue, know exactly what's it's all about?

I don't see a service bulletin applicable to the iX (I20), however, there is a very similar one for X5/6/7 and 7/i7 cars. That is defect 0061380800, which one could assume is the corresponding bulletin for those models. They break up bulletins between BMW and BMWi because they are treated as different brands.

Anyway, that bulletin says:
Quote:
A quality check showed that the Remote-Control Parking token was not activated in the current software for the vehicles affected.
Remedy is to reprogram the BCP with 03/2024.25 or later. So a simple software update with the latest available version fixes this. The affected cars left the factory without the remote parking feature unlocked.

Thank you. Google around and never found the answer

Hopefully that since this is a “simple” OTA update cars aren’t held up for delivery.

No, BMW never relies on OTA updates for fixing software issues for cars not yet delivered, as OTA updates get pushed to vehicles in seemingly unpredictable fashion or sometimes never. If a work order with a software related defect code is opened, it must be resolved before the car is delivered.

Do you have access to release notes for 03/24?

Our Xdrive 50 is stuck at the processing center at Port of NY. It was received at the Processing Center a week ago, on March 11 and the work order issued on March 12 for the defect requiring software update relating to self parking.
Spoke with Genius twice, who originally said it was being processed, but now can not give me any info and just want to be chatty about weather. They suggested dealer could find out more for me.
Dealer tells me processing center is awaiting new update software to be released for installation, and that other cars are also waiting.
I'm getting frustrated and feel something disengenious is occurring w/BS. BMW should be better than this.

I'm really sorry that you are going through this. Do you see any open orders on the Recall Tool? (https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app)

My car arrived at the port on Saturday and is expected to be taken to the VPC today. I'll keep you posted if there are any work orders or software updates required before releasing the car.

I still show the open defect order related to parking assistant. Time will cure, I assume.
I am avidly looking forward to the new luxe wheels, tho I do love driving the sweet X3 around our Catskill roads in this fine spring weather.
Our order went in Christmas week, at which point our dealer estimated we'd have the car towards mid to end of March. the build began the start of February. We were at the port of NY March 11.
Best hopes for all awaiting IX deliveries. Happy spring & happy cruising, y'all!

My car is currently in transit with the same defect code. I talked to my dealer today. They said once the car is in the shop, they will run a software update to resolve the issue. They also mentioned that this is related to the remote park.

They sound confident in addressing the issue. Keep my fingers crossed

Neither the genius nor the dealer will be able to give any info about what’s going on at the port. All they can pretty much see is whether a work order is open or closed. Sometimes, the port employees might put some notes under the “Holds” section in the BMW ordering system, so ask the dealer to check there. At this point all you can do is wait for the work order to close. Mine, which was also a software update, took two weeks at the Port of Newark. Best of luck!

03/2024.30 installed by dealer fixed remote parking for me. Installed a month after it broke with 11/2023.58 OTA in mid-February.
