2023 iX xDrive 50 - climate control no air flow

I have a 2023 iX xDrive 50 produced in 02/2023 with iDrive 8 and current version 11/2023.58.

I have had a climate control problem occur about 20 times at random occasions in the past few months. Local BMW service checked it once with no error logs. The issue will randomly start functioning on next start or after a period of time. Once it even started to function while driving.

Problem:
  • Climate control does not function in standby state
  • Regardless of climate control settings no air flow from front, rear or defrost vents.
  • Seat ventilation/heating still functions normally

Conditions that do not matter:
  • Software version
  • Rebooting system
  • Battery charge %
  • Outside temperature

Anyone experience the same problem?

Does the inability to have warm air blowing into the footwell count as "the same".

Feet get very cold after a random journey length, regardless of climate control settings.

Noticed today that if I’m stationary, footwell is toasty warm. Whilst driving though, it’s quite cold.

did you try increasing the footwell temp in the climate control to be warmer to see if it helps?

Yep. All maxed out, driver footwell max, temp max, fan max, direction footwell only, auto off, ac off.

Cold feet (literally, not figuratively).

With HVAC off completely, footwell is cold.
