Rear 3/4 view proportions look odd. The front track looks wider than the rear, making it seem like a flared, muscular front end dragging along a puny rear end. Like a bulldog. In a bad way.

The lights suck. Just go back to the double round headlights. There is a reason the headlight design of the 911 hasn't changed in 50 years, and when it did briefly in the 996 generation, people hated it!

The current M2 is so much nicer and more aggressive.

Overall I think it looks good and will likely look a lot better in M2 form but the tail lights don't look right. I don't understand why they chose that shape as it just doesn't fit with the rest of the car or any BMW for that matter.

It looks okay. It definitely looks like a descendant of the current 2 Series. It appears that BMW is going for clean lines over curves in their latest cars. Unless they go crazy with the grilles the new M2 shouldn't be a major departure from the current one visually.

Note, The renders in that story are older than those at the top of this thread. They do not integrate the details from the leaked black car shown here:

honestly if they are gonna make the car look like this, might as well just slap on fwd, 1.5L turbo 3 cyl and lower the sticker price to $23,999 and ditch the MINI lineup entirely.
