Some photos I took of the i4 eDrive 40 at UDE this week. After seeing it in person my thoughts on its design have not changed.

Individual color, aftermarket 20" wheels and a drop can make a decent car out of this, but dropping the rear air suspension will be difficult - it is too jacked up.

Already a very decent looking car, even with the blue (aka "i") accents.
Also loving those perforated (synthetic) leather seats.

The door handles create such a strange look to the side profile. They're either too low, too deep, or too flat...or maybe all off those.

The standard German bumper on the gran coupe version looks to be the best bumper to me too. Hopefully can swap that in after.

stein_325i,

Where you allowed to sit in the i4 or at least have the doors and trunk open?

Thanks.

No both vehicles were unfortunately locked. Mainly just for viewing purposes only.

I had the same thoughts, wish they would go back to their traditional styling where the bodyline passes through the door handle, that probably would have improved the looks.

So there wasn't anyone around the i4 or iX when you where there? Seems strange.

This was at the recent Washington DC UDE event right?

Thanks.

Yes DC UDE, the vehicles got some onlookers while I was there but not a ton. I had overheard and engaged with a few people talking about the cars (both the i4 and iX) but it wasn't exactly positive remarks from what I had heard and seen.

It really is a bit obnoxious in person, especially on the hockey stick down the side, same with the gold accents on the iX. Both cars desperately need shadowline to get rid of it.

That's the main thing I noticed in the spy shots over the past year or so…

The ride height (or wheel gap?) seems insane

I'm sure it's for the batteries or some other engineering thing but still
