Possible i4 DIY grill changes

The original i4 Concept looks pretty different than the final product:

So I was wondering what it looked like if you make the grill similar to the original concept, which is pretty easy as the grill is closed and can easily be wrapped:

Another thing that can easily be done is just wrap the grills surrounding chrome in the body color:

I have to say, I do like the look of coloring the actual black of the grill, maybe even with a tiny blue grill surround. I’m curious to see if people would actually do something like this when the car gets into peoples hands.

I think it would look decent if the grill bottom flowed seamlessly into the lower intake. So it might be enough to just black out the whole grill. See the picture in this link:

Also, if possible, on the upper side there would not be that notch in the "middle" of the grill. Could you photoshop something resembling that?

Been trying numerous options in photoshop

I tried quite a bit to make the i4 grill more livable-with. I came to the conclusion that all it needs is to be body colored. Waiting for my spray paint to get to work

The bottom 1/3 of the grille is open to allow air in for radiators. So it can't be closed off completely.

I like it - looks good. I can see the surround is dark but due to lighting of the photo hard to tell if it's black or body color. How'd you get it off to paint?

Love the look of the dark grill. Going to be one of the first things I do.
