The i4 M50 will likely be upwards of 80K.

Agreed. Thanks for putting this contrast in stark relief. This image really shows why BMW is in serious trouble. The BMW looks like a minivan in comparison to the sexiness of the Audi.

FWIW, I ran across this where there is a bit of a reveal on the interior. @1:56 and going forward you can see the dash layout and the center console an part of the front seat.

It looks okay to my eye.

Wonder how the Germans calculate 85%? They sold the idea that the production car would be 85% of what we saw in the concept. Just a quick look and I see the hood, grille, roof and front fascia are different. During one of the drive videos the front and rear seating interior as well as the door panels appear to be changed also.

Not saying the i4 is a bad car, but looking at the concept and being told we will get 85% of what we see.......and then seeing what we get.....sure looks like more than a 15% change to me.

Was it all "wet" surface drifting?
You can drift any rear wheel drive with 80 hp on a wet surface!
That doesn't count.

I don't think so. I live in munich and have seen the i4 and the 4 GC driving around several times. It looks like what I would expect from a 4series GC. If BMW wasn't in trouble with the F36, I see no reason why it should be with this one. It looks really great with an M-Trim in a decent colour, without that rubbish blue accents - but this is all about taste.

What I tried to say before, is that you are comparing two products from different segments - they are just not competing. The e-tron GT would be more in a 8 series GC range, in terms of its dimensions and price tag.
The lowest end trim of the e-tron currently costs more then 100k€ and it is nearly 5 meters long. I don't think that it costs much less in the US. The RS even costs about 150k€.
In Addition to that it has only 238m of max. range, which I think is not too much for a car that should rather have better long journey abilities.
If BMW follows the ix3 pricing strategy, than you can expect the price to be on level with its nearly fully specd ICE equivalent, as the BEV probably won't have many options left to chose.
This would also match with the statement of the project leader in the video, that they want it to be available for a wider mass.

I guess we will know more in the future, but I just tried to provide a more objective view on the product.

That last photo tells me the rear seat headroom and the cargo area on the Audi are quite compromised compared to the i4. Might as well get a two door at that point.

As long as I'm in the front I don't care. Anything is an improvement from my CLS' rear seat

Adding that depressed, anorexic waif who is showing off her midriff to market a watered down concept car that has lost all BMW design cues is surely going to get me to buy this car

Even BMW couldn't find a model that didn't look disgusted standing next to their car! What a pathetic group of designers.

For me, that attitude would defeat the purpose of getting the entire vehicle. I already have a 2 Series for personal fun. For a family car, shopping, luggage, taking four adults out, taking a bike in for service, etc. the car needs to have some usefulness. For real world purposes for more than a single person lifestyle, the Audi looks like a failure to me because it's just pretty at the cost of being useful. I can put a pretty car photo on the garage wall.

Lately new BMW's are far from photogenic, but look striking in person. I think (and hope) the i4 is no different. That being said, this car better start in the mid to high 40's. Anything more for the base trim would just be missing their target of the Model 3.

My First Electric Car not.

For my first electric car I will I'll be looking at a different brand. Looks like a Blow Fish. It makes a Tesla 3 a looker.

What a bizarre profile. It looks like someone sat on an X4's roof and squashed it. If the 4GC looks like this, then it is more GT than GC.

It just doesn't match in my opinion. Its very aggressive in the front but past the a-pillar loses any aggression and looks very boring, very VW Arteon-like.
The iX is especially guilty of this. It also accentuates the sagging butt look of the iX/i4. Those weird rear bumper pieces don't help it in that regard either. It's weird, it manages to be both bland and overstyled at the same time...

That’s probably what they are trying to do, since the GT is no more.

But this is what the 4GC will look like. We've seen BMW make some sleek GCs. I'm not sure why they would want to make a GC look like this.

What about the roofline seems that different to you from the current GC? The Hoffmeister kink is not what it once was, but overall, does this really seem that different?

jesus BMW if you don't want to do EVs then just don't...stop hyping us up for 5 years with rumors of iX i4 and then push out this stuff...this will probably sell fewer than the new Kia EV let alone tackle anything close to Audi or Tesla....

C'mon...Audi is 10 times better but those photos aren't proportioned. RSeGt is 141 cm tall, i4 probably 139 cm tall.

So, first, they take the "M3" name and slap it onto a 4-door and call the legendary coupe "M4". Then, bring an EV with 4 doors and call it "i4".
