He's referring to the Lucid Air, which he wishes had a liftback.

Correct, that was the flow of the conversation.

As crazy as it seems, I think I made a decently handsome car. I mean, it's better than a Model 3.
The trick is to get it in black to hide a lot of it lol.

The overall design of the Gran Coupe really improves or in this case masks a lot of the lack of character lines on the coupe. The Gran Coupe actually looks good, the flaw is the new non-Hofmeister kink.

Looks good on the screen, but as we have 102F today and it's not quite peak heat yet here in the southwest, black is out.

I'd really like to get Sunset to make a set with my Valencia 2 Series "keeper".

But, without an MSport package, the trim is unattractive to me. Too much "stuff" going on. The best lighter color alternative (either with Canberra interior) seems to be Skyscraper , which makes much of the trim really disappear.

EDIT: I just found the MSport on the Canadian site....I'm settled.

I love my G32 and could imagine to add the I4 as my daily.

The 20" wheels add a subtle fender extension at the rear. The rear wheels are super wide. IMO, looks much better this way.

Hope these options make their way to the US.

After seeing that gray color with those wheels, looks like a S/RS5 Sportback. Weird.

The online configuration hides the hood line a lot.

But it will be there.

Almost every EV entering the market is a damned crossover. Most of the few EV sedan/coupes out there have incoherent designs full of useless angles and faux trim. I always been attracted to German car by their (historically) understated, timeless and elegant design. Monstrosities like the iX will age like everything that came out of the '80s.

The only attractive EVs to my eyes are the Taycan and its Audi sibling - both are way more expensive than the i4 and out of my budget. The Teslas are not repulsive, but I dont find them particularly attractive either. So if I had to buy an EV tomorrow, the i4 would be the only option I would be remotely interested in buying. Not that I want one.
I think the Polestar2 is tight. Clean design, still a hatchback. Though a little jacked up.

Nicely done, but some reviews are concerning about a "flinty" ride and actual range. It's also a bit small. Genesis GV70 EV is very interesting.

The range is in the 220-230mile range, like the i4 M50. Size wise, there was more room than my F31. I'm 6'2 and there was more space behind me than the 3.

When does the Genesis come out? Hyundai seems like they will be a dominant player in the EV game. Though the GV70 is a CUV, so not interested.

Actually test drive a 330 PHEV and X3 PHEV when my lease ended last week, and definitely liked the 330. If BMW sold a 330 PHEV wagon in the US, it would've been a done deal for me. I just don't like the high riding CUV/SUV. So I'm out as a customer.

There will also be a G70 sedan EV. For my purposes, coming from a 330i GT as our family/shopping/errands car, the more spacious and flexible cargo is important. I would not take the M50 to trade a bit of performance for range. The test for size will be fitting my bicycle inside. These Genesis models are supposedly within a year.

Has this been confirmed? I've yet to see any news on a G70 EV. So far it seems Genesis has confirmed 3 new EV's. The G80 and GV70 will receive EV variants based on their ICE counterparts and a new GV60 (name may change) EV will be introduced based on the Hyundai's Ioniq 5 and Kia's EV6 pure EV Platform.

Sounds like me. The Polestar2 thankfully is a hatchback and fit bicycles in the back. I think without taking the wheels off.

Yes, that is the desired goal. My current 3 Series GT just fits my bike, and that car is 190" long. Polestar 2 is 181". I realize some proportions may change, but the loss of 9" of length would concern me for cargo room length. I am more optimistic about i4 at 189" length that with rear seats folded, I could still make it fit.

It looks like the MSport has been removed recently on the Canadian website. Anyone else noticed that? I'm wondering why…

On most BMW websites the M Sportseats have also been removed from the visualizer.

I hope they have the option for blue ridge mountain metallic on the US-Spec i4. its such a beautiful and underrated color in my opinion and it would be the perfect upgrade from my 2021 330e
