the F36 and F30 height difference (about 1.5 inches or more) is obvious and one of the reasons why I love the F36 so much.

the i4 looks a lot taller in pictures than the F36.
2 cm wider, 7.5 cm longer and 4 mm taller than G20. Ride heigth of the M50 is 12.5 cm

I would have to see them side by side to be sure, but this looks more like a regular sedan than a "gran coupe." Both the G20 and i4 look visually heavier than their predecessors due to the overall design language which uses softer creases and bodylines.

Thanks guys. Darn, I didn't realize the i4 is 4mm taller than the G20. The G20 is already about 5mm taller than the F30. In comparison to the F36, the difference when side by side will be significant.

The G2x chassis is considerably larger in all dimensions than the F3x.

The i4 is even uglier than a Tesla. I don't understand buying an electric vehicle. They are pointless.

Why do designers have to make electric cars look different?! Fuel looks better.

I think most people on the street cannot tell the difference between i4 and m440i GC. It's as close to a "normal ICE looking" EV car as you can get.

Agreed it’s ridiculous, they’re totally doing away with their superior ergonomics for nothing. They removed the hvac controls and replaced it with…blank plastic. Why would someone want this? Now you gotta press MENU to change the fan speed, seat heat, etc.

Is this supposed to be BMW's answer to those who want an EV 3 Series?

In person photo of the M50 with 20" wheels

Here you can see a real life photo of the M50 with the 20" 868 M wheels.
In the picture you can see quiet good the wider rear fenders in connection with the 868 wheels.

The i4 looks so nice with these rims and I would love to have them on the car, but i have a little concern about the shorter range.
Does anyone have experience with the increased consumption with larger and wider wheels?

The M50 looks good OEM, needs just a drop and more aggressive 20” wheels to look great.

i just can't with that Grill! does anyone really like it? The public reaction seems to be really strongly against it. Is there a specific market somewhere (maybe China?) that loves that front end?

Dane here. The front is simply stunning! I'm blown away every time I see the 4 coupe at the dealer. Can't wait to get my i4 and wouldn't choose the old front grille if I could.
It looks old and boring

I would correct that to "the forum reaction".
The public generally don't have much "strong reaction". They accept the giant grill of Lexus and Audi, and I don't think BMW would be any different.

When I bought my last G20 I fairly assessed both the 330e and the model 3 and the model 3 interior is one of the worst I have seen in years, full of cheap plastic, no HUD, and just way overpriced in europe, $35k sounds like a realistic price for it though.
Once you spec all the extras the autonomous driving on the BMWs is actually very impressive.

I actually like the front end. Saw a 430i at the dealership and was pretty impressed with it overall. This Gran Coupe, not so much. The 2 door had a 8 series look to it that I really liked. So many of the newer cars all appear to have massive grilles. After a while you tend to "numb" to them.

Opinions are just that. Give it a couple of years and no one will pay any attention to it. Betting if you measured sq inches of the 4 series against other brands, you'd likely find no difference in real estate.
